Great news everyone! Clinical Psychologist, Dr David Bakker is running the popular Tuning Into Teens parenting programme between 9am and 12pm on Saturday 2nd May.

This programme is very popular and a couple of last minute spots have become available! Rebates apply for this with a valid Medicare referral. NDIS also covers this for parents with an eligible child plan.

This programme teaches parents the skills to help them identify, regulate and work with developing emotions in adolescence. It’s suitable for those parents with children aged ten and over and is also suitable for parents of children who are neurodivergent 🙌

Tomorrow night Four Corners will be airing an episode about ADHD in Australia. Most notably, on the importance of thorough assessment and diagnosis and the risks associated with misdiagnosis.

In exciting news, as part of this episode, Dr Norman Swan from Four Corners flew down to Archer Street Health to interview our very own Clinical Psychologist, Dr David Bakker about ADHD assessment, diagnosis and the impact social media has on people seeking diagnosis!! 🙌 ⭐️ 👏

Our psychologists and psychiatrists are passionate about ADHD and conduct thorough assessments to help our clients learn the most about themselves.

Hi everyone!! It’s the new year and we’ve had some fabulous new psychologists commence with us! 👏

We currently have availability for adult, adolescent and child clients! 🥳

We’ve had our books closed for child and adolescent clients for quite some time now.
This is because (as many of you have found), child and adolescent psychologists are as rare as hen’s teeth… soooo, we’re very excited that we can now offer this service again! 😁

Mental health care plans, workers compensation, NDIS and private patients are all welcome!! 🙌

💥 We have several new and exciting additions to the Archer Street Health team this year!💥

Stay tuned for more introductions but to get the ball rolling, we’re excited to introduce you to registered psychologist Lexi Fox-Hughes! 👏

Lexi is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who has a warm, thoughtful, and compassionate approach. She is passionate about supporting children and their families, adolescents, and adults. Lexi values creating a collaborative space where clients feel understood and supported at their own pace.

Lexi has experience working with individuals presenting with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, persistent pain, relationship challenges, and work-related stress and injuries. She also has an interest in working with clients in the perinatal space. She enjoys working with diverse presentations and takes a flexible, individualised approach tailored to each client’s needs and goals.

Lexi uses evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). When supporting clients with trauma-related experiences, she adopts a whole-body approach to support safety, regulation, and reconnection with the body.

In addition to therapy, Lexi can complete comprehensive cognitive and learning (educational) assessments for clients of all ages.

Lexi will be based at our Campbell Street site and is available for new referrals 🙌
