She keeps me anchored when life gets busy... A daily reminder to breathe, play, and be present.

We often forget that to be the best parents, we need to remember we’re important too.
Just like on an airplane -> you put your oxygen mask on first, so you can help those you love. 💛

To show up fully for the people we love, we have to start with ourselves.
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s one of the kindest things you can do for your family and everyone who depends on you. 🌿

Windy. Tired. Zero motivation… but I ran anyway. 🏃🏼‍♀️

These are the reps that count…Not the easy ones, but the ones you ALMOST skip!

When the weather’s bad, motivation’s low, or someone offers a more relaxing alternative… and you still choose this first? That’s double confidence points and we want them - we need them! 🔥

Pushing through tiredness, frustration, or a low mood isn’t just fitness- it’s real-life resilience training.

Me: For life. ✨🌱💥

Only 3.5 hours of sleep today (don’t ask, don’t follow -not my proudest moment 😅)…
Still ran 10K at 4:53 pace - fast for me. Once again, my body surprised me.

This is why I say: train the brain FIRST. The body catches up. 💪🧠

From Tri-suit to Jumpsuit! 🏊🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🚴‍♀️💄

I almost skipped this triathlon due to minimal training, but I knew the cost of not showing up was greater than facing my discomfort and self-doubt. Instead of focusing on time, I shifted my goals to just finishing-and turned out to be so much fun! 🤩

There are no limits when you prioritise mental strength and resilience. Life is constantly evolving, so don’t be afraid to try new approaches when old ones no longer serve you. Keep growing 🌱✨

My first marathon extravaganza finished after 3 hours and 55 minutes! 🏃🏼‍♀️💥

For the first 3 hours, we were running in the rain 🌧️, which I liked as it felt like a badass Balboa moment... 😆 However, after 30km, you feel like you have concrete legs/ wooden sticks that are stiff and painful…

That was the time to take your mind off that discomfort and refocus on something else. I was focusing on the next water station, next turning point, next 2 km..etc. I stuck to the tips my running guru and gave me.

The list included:
✅ go easy for the first 30km and then race the last 12km (if you can?) I couldn’t... Sorry Tamara 🙂 (but I kept a steady pace for the first 30km which gave me an advantage at the end..)
✅ prepare your mindset that you will be doing it for a long time, Mantra: ‘I will be running until lunchtime’
✅ accept the pain and discomfort that will come eventually, but it won’t last forever!
✅ don’t worry that you only slept 3 hours before the race, this happens a lot!
✅ test any gels and nutrition ahead of time, don’t experiment on a race day
✅ drop running west
✅ stick to your old gear and clothing

During my 12-week preparation, I was sick for 2 with influenza and I lightly spraint my ankle 3 weeks before the race. 💥I doubted myself more than once, I was tempted to pull out of this race as I didn’t feel super prepared and fit enough.
✅ But that’s it! This is why you do this crazy race —> To go through this mental rollercoaster, only to find your path to strengthen your inner voice, mental toughness, grit, and perseverance 🔥💪🏻. There is no other way to do this than to expose yourself to challenging situations, and it doesn’t need to be a running race… I mean any situation that is challenging and tough for you 💛!

Mission accomplished!

This ski season has been incredible, it is hard to say goodbye 🎿 It was good to remind yourself that you still have it - that stamina, drive and passion for winter sports. I enjoyed seeing my daughter being so excited about winter, snow and not wanting to wear gloves! My rebellious Mini-me 😆💙

About Dr Magdalena & Health Synergy

Hi! I`m Magdalena,

Think about me as your mental coach, somebody who will show you how to conquer your mind so that it will work in your favour when it comes to your health and diet.

My passion for improving people’s health lead me to become an expert in health psychology and behaviour change. I hold a Doctorate Degree (PhD) from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and a double Master of Clinical Psychology and Psychology of Management. Beyond my private practise and workshops which I run for my clients, I’m also working with students and conducting research projects at the University of Newcastle (Australia). I have published numerous scientific articles related to health psychology, exercise, chronic disease and mental health.
