6. CONGRATULATE
- Home organisation and decluttering is not a quick or easy task, No matter how small the space, Reflect back on the space before you started and congratulate yourself on the organised, clean space in front of you!

It can become addictive, Don't be surprised if you start eyeing off other spaces in your home.

As per my previous posts, I am loving Steph Pase' new podcast (Owner of Planners). She discussed her Three Cs of Home Organisation but I disagree and suggest there is in fact six!

5. CONTAIN
- This is the part a lot of my clients love to dive into first before considering the previous Four Cs - Consider, Cull, Categorise, Clean. Save yourself a lot of money and time by reviewing the first Four Cs.

- There are a LOT of storage options, and they don't have to set you back a fortune
a) What storage items do you already have?
b) Can you up-cycle any commonly found home items ie Cans, Bottles, Boxes?
c) What is your storage budget?
d) What size is required - Remember to review height, width and depth.
e) Does your storage container need a lid? Would it be best to use clear for easy recognition of items?

DONT FORGET LABELS!

When placing items back into their final location, place most frequently used items at eye height and consider other home users, Do you have children who will help themselves to low lying craft supplies?

4. CLEAN
- Before returning items to the storage space, clean it well and ensure it is dry before returning items.
a) Is the space prone to moisture and would benefit from anti-moisture products?

- After culling (decluttering items), categorise the items you have decided to keep
a) Place like-items together
b) Consider the storage space size, purpose and item frequency of use
c) If a category has a large number of items, consider grouping in sub-categories

a) What can you donate?
b) What can be thrown away?
c) What can be sold?
d) What can be given to friends/family?

1. CONSIDER
- Prior to starting any home organisation task, Always consider
a) Is this something you can achieve alone or would you be better to outsource? We are happy to work alongside you, providing both emotional and practical support or complete the task on your behalf.
b) What is the best use of the space? Where is it located in your home? What is the room/space used for? Is it exposed to heat/moisture?
c) Is it the best time for you to perform this task? Do you have enough time? Are you free from distractions? Do you have more energy and focus in the morning or afternoon?
d) Are you mentally in the right place to deal with the contents of this particular space? (ie Sentimental items etc)
