Come as you are, we’ll meet you there.

At Brightwell, we don’t expect you to walk into the room calm, polished, or perfectly prepared. You’re allowed to be emotional, quiet, overwhelmed, curious. Human.

If notes help you feel more grounded, bring them. If you’re nervous, that’s welcome too. If you need time, a support person, pauses, or reassurance, we make space for that.

Good healthcare isn’t just about clinical knowledge. It’s also about creating an environment where people feel safe to show up as themselves, to ask questions, and speak freely.

You don’t have to leave parts of yourself at the door to deserve care.

Book your care online or call our friendly reception team on 02 4092 8000.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet around 80% of people who develop it haven’t been screened regularly.

The good news? The way we screen has changed for the better.

Since 2017, the Pap test has been replaced with the Cervical Screening Test, a more accurate, evidence-based approach that looks for the human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus responsible for almost all cases of cervical cancer.

The test is simple, and it can detect risk years before any changes occur.
If no HPV is found, you won’t need to test again for five years. If you have high-risk HPV, your healthcare professional will guide you through the next steps.

And yes, even if you’ve had the HPV vaccine, you still need screening, because the vaccine doesn’t protect against every strain that can cause cervical cancer.

You can also choose how your sample is collected: by your clinician, or through self-collection if you prefer.

If you’re aged 25–74, this is your reminder to check when your next Cervical Screening Test is due.

Help to protect your future. Make an appointment with Brightwell Health today.

At Brightwell, our approach to skin cancer medicine goes beyond simply “checking moles.” It’s about thorough, evidence-based care that helps people feel informed, supported, and proactive about their skin health.

Our skin cancer services include comprehensive skin checks using dermoscopy, biopsies, diagnosis and management of suspicious lesions, and surgical excision where needed. We also place strong emphasis on prevention and education, helping patients better understand changes in their skin, sun safety, and when to seek further assessment.

Time poor? Book a 15-minute skin check with us. Here you will receive a detailed skin assessment using dermoscopy, discuss any findings, and guide you on next steps.

Our skin cancer medicine services are led by Dr Shalu Singh, with advanced training in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer Medicine. Dr Singh is passionate about helping people detect and treat skin cancer early, while providing warm, patient-centred care.

For many people, skin checks become something they “mean to get around to”, especially when nothing feels obviously wrong. But regular skin checks are an important part of preventive healthcare, particularly in Australia’s harsh climate and high UV environment.

Whether you’ve noticed a change in your skin or are simply due for a routine check, our team is here to provide thorough, supportive, care.

Book your appointment with Dr Singh online or call our friendly reception team on 02 4092 8000.

At Brightwell Health, we believe healthcare works best when we look at the bigger picture.

A symptom can be an important starting point, but rarely tells the whole story on its own. Our physical health, mental health, nervous system, hormones, life experiences, relationships, stress, environment, and day-to-day realities can all intersect and influence how we feel in our bodies.

That’s why our approach is collaborative, thorough, and patient-centred. We take the time to zoom out, ask questions, explore context, and understand the person behind the symptom.

Feeling heard, understood, and cared for as a whole person matters.

A single symptom is a starting point, not the whole answer.

It’s the patterns, the context, and everything around it that helps shape what’s really going on. When one piece is looked at in isolation, but the full picture isn’t quite coming together.

This is why multidisciplinary care matters.

Having clinicians with different areas of expertise allows for a more complete understanding of what’s going on, and supports care that considers the whole picture, rather than just one part.

At Brightwell, that approach is intentional. Care is designed to be collaborative, with different clinical perspectives working together to build a clearer understanding and more comprehensive pathway forward.

Your whole story matters. Not just one symptom

At Brightwell Health, we know pelvic floor and urogynaecology concerns can impact many parts of daily life, and navigating specialist care can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Our new Urogynaecology Shared Care model is designed to help make that process feel more connected, collaborative, and supported.

Through this approach, your Urogynaecologist works alongside a Urogynaecology Specialist GP to help streamline your care, coordinate investigations, provide earlier support where appropriate, and improve continuity throughout your healthcare journey.

Importantly, your specialist remains central to your care, and seeing the Urogynaecology Specialist GP first is entirely optional. The goal is not to create barriers or delays, but to help patients feel more prepared, informed, and supported while accessing specialist care.

This model also allows for longer discussions, earlier intervention where appropriate, and clearer communication across your healthcare team.

At Brightwell, we believe collaborative care matters. Because feeling heard, informed, and supported shouldn’t be an afterthought in healthcare.

Today is International Nurses Day, held on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, and a chance to recognise the enormous contribution nurses make to healthcare around the world.

Their work reaches far beyond clinical tasks alone. They educate, support, listen, coordinate, problem-solve, and help people feel safe and understood within the healthcare system.

At Brightwell Health, our nursing team is an integral part of the care we provide every day. Through nurse-led clinics, clinical care, education, and ongoing patient support, they help make healthcare more accessible, connected, and patient-centred.

Working collaboratively alongside our specialist GPs and specialists, our nurses bring a deeply compassionate, trauma-informed, and inclusive approach to every interaction. Their expertise, warmth, and dedication make a meaningful difference to both our patients and our team.

To our incredible nurses at Brightwell, and to nurses everywhere, thank you for the care you give, the work you do, and the difference you make every single day.

Thinking of getting an IUD?

An intrauterine device (IUD) is a small, contraceptive device placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy.

There are two main types. Hormonal (Mirena & Kyleena) and non-hormonal (copper), each offering long-term protection, lasting from 5 to 10 years.

At Brightwell, our experienced doctors provide:
• Personalised information and contraceptive advice.
• Professional IUD insertion and ongoing management.
• Different levels of pain relief depending on your individual needs.

Choosing contraception is a deeply personal decision. Our team is here to guide you with clarity, care, and expertise, so you can feel informed and confident every step of the way.
