That's why I always try to include plenty of low-calorie density foods in my diet. Foods that are super high in food volume but relatively low in total calories. Most whole foods – especially fruits πŸ‰ and veggies πŸ₯— – tend to fit the bill.

Before we jump into weight loss, we must understand what energy is and the meaning of energy balance. Protein, carbohydrates, fat and alcohol make up constituents of energy. The seesaw analogy is a great way to visualise the energy balance as scale.
Picture a seesaw with one side being energy intake (food, beverages) and the other as energy expenditure (exercise and daily activities).
In a nutshell, if you are consuming too much energy it can tip the balance causing a surplus of your overall energy intake. As a result, the energy that is not being used will be stored which over time will lead to weight gain.
