Welcome to Little Hideaway ELC. Little Hideaway Early Learning and Care, located in Cameron Park, provides care for children aged 0-5 years. We also offer Vacation Care for school-aged children upon request. When selecting a place for your little one, it’s important to ensure that they are cared for in a safe, nurturing, and secure environment. At L

ittle Hideaway, we create just that—an environment where your child’s emotional, social, mental, and physical needs are met with care and attention. Our home-like atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and secure, ensuring that both children and families feel a true sense of belonging. Our dedicated Educators work to foster positive, meaningful relationships with both families and the local community. We believe that the bonds children form with their families, educators, and their surroundings are vital for their social, emotional, and cognitive development, as well as their overall wellbeing. At Little Hideaway, your child will engage in a variety of enriching educational activities tailored to their individual interests and needs. Activities include story time, music sessions, puzzles, sensory play, dramatic play, arts and crafts, block construction, group play, messy activities, gardening, water play, and more. Our spacious outdoor play area is fully fenced and surrounded by beautiful bushland and a large pond, offering children the chance to observe nature, hear ducks quacking, and watch birds as they visit. A standout feature of our outdoor space is our charming country-style cubby house, a large vegetable garden, and a dirt pit—ideal for children to explore and spark their imaginations. Today, the children got baking with a bit of Gruffalo magic! They made “Gruffalo Brownies,” adding colorful sprinkles and toppings to match the wild creature from the story. Purple sprinkles for Gruffalo’s "purple prickles," orange smarties for his “eyes,” and a sprinkle of chocolate chips to represent his “black tongue.” It was a messy, magical adventure in the kitchen, with the brownies turning into a Gruffalo-inspired feast fit for a storybook creature.
There were chocolatey smiles all round 😋

Children’s learning development involves a mix of fine motor skills, coordination, and independence. When learning to cut pieces of food, children practice important self-help skills, such as improving hand-eye coordination, strengthening hand muscles, and developing the ability to follow simple tasks. As they gain confidence in using utensils, they also learn responsibility, patience, and safety awareness in the kitchen. This process not only fosters their sense of autonomy but also helps them connect with healthy eating habits by being more involved in food preparation.
