💦 🐚 Olwyn enjoyed a sunny day out with HM Grace at , exploring the foreshore and Birubi Beach. Ollie found new passion for snorkelling, inspired by the many fish she saw on her aqua-adventures! The fish and chips for lunch were a highlight and a dip in Newcastle Ocean Baths on the way home was a great finish to the day.🌊💛

Dear Diary,
Today I turned 4. I don’t know exactly what “4” means, but everyone kept telling me I’m a “big boy now,” so I assume it’s impressive.

This was my very first birthday at Dandelion House. Shelley, Nicholas, Lorrie and Lorraine made it feel like I’ve always belonged here. There were smiles. There were cuddles. There was a suspicious amount of attention focused entirely on me (which felt correct).

Then… the cake appeared.

I gave it a very professional sniff. For quality control.

Some might say I then “wolfed it down.” I prefer to think of it as efficient cake appreciation.

Four years old.
First Dandelion House birthday.
Full heart. Full tummy.

✨ Rebecca regularly visits her friend Amy (another member of the Dandelion House community), whose home is nestled among beautiful bushland. The neighbourhood is alive with birds of all kinds. Thanks to the welcoming residents, the birds often come close to say hello.

On this visit, Bec made a new feathered friend - hand-feeding a white cockatoo before it cheekily popped up onto her shoulder.😄🦜

Bernie has been working hard in Art Takeaways with Carole to design and create her own patchwork picnic rug, and the finished piece is AMAZING!

From selecting fabrics to sewing each patch, Bernie led the process - and the bright colours beautifully reflect her vibrant personality. Picnic plans are loading...! 🧺🌈

☀️🌊 Jodie and Shana enjoyed some seaside Xmas fun in the sun at .

Jodie cooled off with a swim, while Shana collected shells and driftwood along the shoreline.🐚🌿 The day ended on a sweet note with a well-earned Mr. Whippy 🍦😄 - the perfect way to finish a summer outing🍦

💛🎄Together is the best place to be! Kylie and Ollie shared a wonderful Christmas lunch together, full of music, great food, plenty of laughter and the excitement of exchanging presents.

It was a beautiful way to close out 2025, celebrating connection, friendship and the simple joy of being together. Here’s to carrying these moments of warmth and belonging into 2026 💛✨

🦜⛲ Things are getting quite busy at Bernie's, with feathered friends visiting every morning! Bernie made a mosaic inspired bird bath late last year and the visits from local bird life have steadily grown. Gonna need a bigger birdbath!

🌞💦Taking the plunge on a hot summer’s day over the Christmas break, Michael headed to the pool with Support Worker Lucy, easing into the water and trying out a few different swim strokes. Michael's confidence and big smile show just how much fun was had in the sun! 💛

🎄🐾 Billy wasn’t quite sure what to make of his first Dandelion House Christmas - especially when a very naughty Elffie kept popping up where he least expected it. And don’t even get him started on being dressed up like a reindeer… 🦌😆

Elffie left housemates wondering who was being more mischievous. Billy looked completely innocent (as always)…But somehow the Elf ended up in the bin, and HM Shelley’s coffee cup mysteriously appeared in Billy’s bed 🤔☕🐶

Billy’s Christmas was full of surprises and plenty of personality - and we wouldn’t have it any other way 💛

On Christmas Day, Ollie and HM Grace volunteered at the Samaritans Christmas Lunch in Newcastle - helping serve and support over 1,200 people.

This marked Ollie's 17th year in a row of giving back on Christmas Day - a humble, powerful act of generosity that speaks volumes about her resilience, compassion and community spirit.

Run off their feet but full of joy, the day ended with the duo having a well-earned (and fully clothed!) jump into the Newcastle Ocean Baths 🌊😄

And just to top it off - Ollie made the daily newspaper. We couldn’t be more proud! 💛

Rebecca enjoyed a truly lovely Christmas Day spent with her housemates, SW Alice, and of course Maggie - who made sure she was right in the middle of the fun!

From a delicious shared lunch to fun in the sun, it was a day filled with connection and belonging. A memorable day for all.

Christmas isn’t about how it looks - it’s about how it feels. 💛
