Thank you for this post and what a beautiful image 🩷
It’s Day 4 of Women’s Health Week! Today’s theme is “Pain to power”, highlighting the invisible pain many women have and stay silent about. You don’t have to push through it alone.
Chronic pain is real, even when others can’t see it. Too often, women are told to “tough it out”, or that the pain is “all in your head” or “part of being a woman”. This isn’t true or helpful. The gender pain gap in Australia highlights the lack of support, treatment and research into women’s pain and pain management. At WWDA, we believe you and your experiences, and we’ll keep advocating for the inclusion of hidden disabilities in government programs, services and supports.
Reaching out for support, whether medical or community-based, can be a powerful step towards putting your health first.
