Our space is intentionally designed to soothe - warm tones, soft light, sensory resources and friendly faces.
Because how you feel when you enter a space matters just as much as what happens in it.

That’s what drives everything we do at River.

From NDIS and allied health to family support, we’re here to make accessing quality care feel less complicated - and more human.
Because everyone deserves support that helps them feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Before strategies, assessments or therapy - we build connection.
It’s the thread that makes every other part of our work more effective.
Trust takes time. We’re here for it.

Meet Chelsea 📚💪
Support Worker, Allied Health Assistant, and psychology-obsessed go-getter. Chelsea graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science from the University of Newcastle in 2024 and has her sights set on an Honours degree in 2026, with the ultimate goal of becoming a psychologist.

She brings 2.5 years of experience in disability support work, having worked with a wide range of disabilities and behaviours in both SIL and community access.

Outside of work, Chelsea is just as driven. She’s been competing in sport aerobics for 11 years, has represented Australia twice overseas, and even came 2nd in Prague in 2022. When she’s not training, you’ll find her:
🏋️‍♀️ Hitting the gym with her mum
🧘‍♀️ At hot mat Pilates
📖 Reading a good book
🍳 Brunching at new spots with her family and partner
✈️ Travelling whenever she can

Fun fact: Chelsea lived in Asia for two years as a child.

Meet Zarlie 🐾☕
Support Worker, Allied Health Assistant, and fourth-year Speech Pathology student at the University of Newcastle. Zarlie is passionate about health and supporting people in a holistic way that empowers them to communicate and express themselves confidently in everyday life.

Originally from Sydney, she’s spent the past few years travelling up and down the coast - so much so that her friends call her a bit of a nomad! Now she’s excited to be settling back in Newcastle and contributing meaningfully to the River team.

When she’s not working or studying, you’ll find her:
🏋️‍♀️ At gym classes or local run clubs
🏖️ At the beach (in any weather)
☕ Sipping a strong flat white from a local café

Meet Emma 🌊☀️
Behaviour Support Practitioner and all-round human sunshine, Emma has a Master’s in Mental Health and a passion for helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered to live life on their terms. She’s a straight-talker with a creative streak, always finding what actually works for you - no cookie-cutter plans here.

When she’s not with clients, you’ll usually find her:
🏄‍♀️ Surfing
🐶 Hanging with her two kelpies
🚐 Chasing the sun in her van
🌏 Planning the next overseas surf mission

She’s also into ocean swims, camping, friendly faces, caffeine, sunsets, animals, flowers, nature, and a good dose of banter.

Fun fact: she’s always cold… which might explain her frequent escapes to Indonesia.

What looks like acting out is often a need not being met.
We take the time to understand the ‘why’ behind the behaviour and help you respond with empathy, not frustration.
