Slow is good. We live in a culture that values speed and productivity. Constantly running on a hamster wheel. Bombarded with thoughts telling us that we need to do more, be more, and have more. We don’t. We just need slow, daily meds, movement and love. Are you making space for the inspired thoughts to flow. I’ve been slack lately but I’m back on track. More teaching, more practicing, more movement and more slow despite by busy little boy keeping me well not ‘slow’.

I am back on the mat sharing yoga tomorrow covering the wonderful

Practice starts at 8.30am for 60 juicy minutes.

I can not wait to see you tomorrow.

This is Ganesh. We look to Ganesh to remove obstacles set before us. Ganesh is also known, in his mischievous way, of placing obstacles in our path. In our struggles, we often find our greatest gifts.
May Ganesh always remain my mentor and protector and help remove/overcome obstacles within my life 🙏

YES. I still share yoga. Every Monday night w in a Mysore setting.

What is Mysore?
Mysore self-practice is the traditional way of practising yoga. Since Mysore class is self‐paced, you are not limited to the pace of a led class. While led classes have a place, Mysore‐style is where you follow your own breath to deepen your focus and meditation skills. In a led class, you may just skim over a new or difficult pose, but the Mysore style provides a unique opportunity to work one‐on‐one with the teacher to progress and experience the benefits of a consistent yoga practice.

Even if you have some knowledge of what Mysore is, the idea of taking a class may be a bit intimidating. I totally understand. It is hard to anticipate what you are in for when you think about taking your first Mysore class. It really is a very welcoming and inclusive form of yoga practice even for beginners. In my view, it is the best way to learn.

Here we will learn your name and your practice. You will have 1.1 conversations with the ‘teachers/students’. Here you will find your home 🙏

Impermanence can be hard to come to terms with. When you are truly open to the fact that in each moment all things are arising and dissolving – and that nothing is stable or permanent it can feel unnerving and scary. Time just keeps sweeping us along in its current.
When something pleasant, beautiful or wanted arises in the flow of our lives we often grasp onto it tightly. We try to keep it the same but inevitably it changes or dissolves again, slipping right through our fingers, right under our noses, often leaving us feeling disappointed, frustrated or sad.

Yet it is also true that as this dance of life is unfolding there is one thing that always remains ever-present. A stillness at the heart of who you are. A silent awareness. The space in which the dance of life is always unfolding.
In that stillness you can find refuge: a shelter from the storms and seasons of life, a quiet in the midst of the chaos, a connection to the part of you that transcends the passing of time and changing forms. In that stillness you can find a home within yourself: a place to rest out of the race, a wellspring of ever-available love and wholeness.

One of the central teachings of all the world’s wisdom traditions is this – anything that changes is not a reliable place to find lasting fulfilment. Fulfilment is cultivated from within, by waking up to this deeper dimension of who we are… and letting it flow into our lives more and more.

How do we do that?

We let stillness be a teacher and a friend.

I am finding myself practicing certain mudras a lot of late both on the mat, sitting at my work desk and just general life. They feel like my powerful tool for self-care and empowerment.

Mudras help to link the brain to the body, soothe pain, stimulate endorphins, change the mood and increase our vitality.

Tips for sore wrists ✨

If your wrists hurt throughout or at the end of your practice, it is likely that you are, at some point, losing hasta bandha and “dumping” weight into your wrists. Try practicing some poses supporting yourself on your fingertips or fists. Yes, it takes more strength, and can be uncomfortable at first, but it can sometimes be the best remedy for persistent wrist pain because it teaches you how to lift out of your hands.
