Darcy, an 18-year-old with autism and an intellectual disability, accessed employment support through NDIS. With help to identify his interests, build his résumé, complete a business-unit qualification and prepare for interviews, he secured a job as a school crossing supervisor. A Heartwarming Update About Our Sweet Alice!

Our participant Gill, recently received this beautiful message from Courtney, one of the Therapy Dog team members, about Alice — the amazing dog she helped raise!

“Alice is one of those ladies you could place with 20 clients if we could. We wouldn’t be able to have these incredible dogs that change people’s lives if it wasn’t for our valued raisers like yourself, so thank you immensely!
Alice was placed with a family of three, predominantly for a gentleman who suffers from narcolepsy and other mental health issues. Her temperament, behaviour and personality are just perfect. She’s now living her best life on a beautiful farm just outside of Canberra, with 15 acres to roam and plenty of furry friends!” 🐶

We at altitude are so proud to see Alice thriving and making such a positive impact. It’s moments like these that remind us just how special the bond between animals and people truly is. ❤️
Here’s to Alice and her wonderful new family — may her tail keep wagging and her heart keep healing. 🦮

One of our participants, Gill, recently enjoyed a relaxing weekend getaway in beautiful Port Macquarie! She spent the trip taking in the scenery and enjoying a well-deserved break with her therapy dog, North, and our amazing support worker, Chloe.
Meanwhile, another participant, Tomas, has been helping out by caring for Gill’s other pups — a wonderful opportunity for him to build independence and responsibility while lending a hand!
