WORD OF THE WEEK - Milestones 🩵

Milestones are significant markers of development that indicate how a person is progressing in key areas such as physical abilities, communication, social interaction, cognition, and daily living skills. They represent typical patterns of growth that most individuals achieve around a certain age or stage.

In Occupational Therapy, milestones are used to understand where someone is currently functioning, identify areas of strength, and highlight where extra support or intervention may be needed. They help guide goal-setting, track progress over time, and ensure development is moving in a positive, expected direction.

WORD OF THE WEEK: RESILIENCE💚

Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover, and grow in the face of challenges, stress, or change. It’s not about avoiding difficulties, but about developing the inner strength, skills, and support needed to navigate them.

In therapy and everyday life, resilience means being able to bounce back from setbacks, maintain a sense of hope, and keep moving forward — even when things feel tough. It’s built through connection, self-awareness, coping strategies, and the belief that growth is possible.

October is ADHD Awareness Month 🩵

ADHD looks different for everyone. It can come with unique strengths, as well as real challenges. This month, we’re shining a light on understanding, acceptance, and the power of the right support.

Together, we can help break down stigma and create spaces where neurodiversity is recognised and valued.

World Mental Health Day 🌎

Today is a reminder that mental health matters. Every day, for everyone.

Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Whether it’s reaching out for support, checking in on someone you care about, or simply pausing to breathe — every small step counts.

Let’s keep breaking the stigma, starting conversations, and building a community where no one feels alone. 💚
