When you manage someone else’s emotional landscape, your system shifts into a role it never asked for. Caretaker mode feels subtle at first — a small adjustment, a tiny tilt — but your body registers the load instantly, long before your mind has the words.

This shift activates as soon as your system tracks their emotion instead of your own. The dynamic becomes imbalanced when one person stays in the stabiliser role and the other stays in the comfort role.

Your system always tells the truth. The heaviness, the tightness, the fatigue, the sense of “something feels off” — that is your body signalling the moment the line moved.

Pj’s, Gremlins, and Getting It Done

A quick update from the hermit cave while I’m still deep in it.

Since moving to Geelong, I’ve been lit up like a firecracker. The content’s coming through fast and loud, and I’m writing like my brain’s on fast‑forward — while wrestling the laptop gremlin (technology is not my friend). I’m just along for the ride.

Right now I’m in full hermit mode: writing in my Pj’s, barely leaving the house, pulling all the pieces together.

I’m so deep in the zone my son keeps reminding me to eat and drink. Bless him. And yes, the laptop gremlin is alive and well — hanging around just long enough to test my patience while I finalise the last stages.

The website has officially entered hermit mode too, while I build the pieces to match everything that’s just landed. If the gremlin behaves, it won’t be long 😁

I promise it’ll be worth the wait. So what’s all the fuss about?
