MEET WEHEBE

Wehebe is an accredited Allied Health Assistant specialising in implementing therapeutic programs. He brings humour, fun, warmth and kindness to all that he does with participants and their families. Wehebe works with primary aged children, adolescents and adults. He provides a trauma-informed approach in all that he does. Wehebe has a broad ranging toolkit, having worked in the public education system and privately (running his own business and coaching young athletes). Wehebe has worked as a Youth Worker in the primary education system working with a range of students who struggle to engage with their peers and the curriculum. He has worked with at risk, disadvantaged youth and developed programs to re engage them at school and in the community. Wehebe is passionate about re engaging young people who have become disconnected from themselves and the world around them. He is creative and likes to think outside the box for ways he can support his diverse caseload.

Wehebe is passionate about running social and community programs designed to improve the wellbeing and independence of participants. Programs are centred around skill building and improving participation across their life - at home, in social contexts and in the broader community. Targeted skills include:
* Planning and cooking meals
* Life/day planning
* Physical exercise
* Grocery shopping
* Money handling
* Ordering food
* Road safety
* Conversational skills
* Developing social skills with peers

Wehebe is respectful and caring and will always make time to trouble shoot and problem solve with participants and their families. He is currently studying to complete a Diploma in Counselling. This will complement the work he currently does.

In the decade before Wehebe entered the allied health space, he played professional ice hockey in North America and Europe. Wehebe has represented Australia in ice hockey for the past 12 years and currently plays for the Newcastle Northstars. Wehebe’s books are currently open and he looks forward to welcoming new participants as an Allied Health Assistant, Youth Mentor or Therapeutic Support Worker.

Over the coming days and weeks we will be posting more about who we are and what we do…

Our first post is dedicated to our wonderful Early Intervention Educator who supports our ACT families. She also provides support via telehealth. Bron is such an asset to Huddle and we feel very privileged to have her on our team. She is much loved by all who are lucky enough to meet her. She is creative, fun, wise and vibrant!

MEET BRON 🌟🌈

Bron is a mum, a foster carer and a Teacher. Her original training was as an Early Childhood Teacher where she taught Preschool for 22 years. She has lived and worked with teenagers in a boarding school setting and has cared for a diverse range of children and young people in foster care. Since 2009 she has focused on using her skills within the Special Education space. She has worked for a number of NDIS providers, supporting children and their families to live their best lives by providing 1:1 therapeutic supports, facilitating groups of children and young people and advocating alongside parents and carers to improve outcomes for their children. At Huddle, Bron works within the key-worker model, implementing programs using her education background but also drawing on comprehensive speech and language knowledge in partnership with Rochelle. She is passionate about bringing out the best in the people that she works with and tries to embody respect and warmth in all of her interactions. Bron loves colour and quirky things and her earring collection is vast but very beautiful. She looks forward to meeting you and sharing in your journey.
