❤️ Our Cardiology services continue to grow at Lingard Private, with the recent introduction of the 'Retrograde Coronary Chronic Total Occlusion' (CTO) intervention.

Performed by experienced Specialists Dr Mohammed Al-Omary and Professor Andrew Boyle with the support of our highly skilled Lingard Private team, the procedure involves accessing a blocked coronary artery from vessels in the opposite side of the heart and removing the blockage. CTO requires specialised operators and equipment, and is used when other more traditional techniques have been unsuccessful.

This is another significant step forward for Lingard Private's Cardiology service and the Hunter community, with the patient safely discharged the day following surgery.

Today is Red Apple Day, the focus of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and an opportunity to raise awareness for the need to 'Get Checked' regularly.

🍎 1,708 young people hear those four words ‘you have bowel cancer’ each year and sadly 288 young lives are cut short due to the disease annually.

🍎 Australia has the highest rates of early-onset bowel cancer in the world

🍎 Latest Australian research reveals 28,265 cases of aggressive types of early-onset bowel cancer over the past 30 years.

🍎 Incidence has increased by up to 8 percent per year. If this increase had been halted, an estimated 4,347 bowel cancers in young Australians would not have occurred.

The best way to treat Bowel Cancer is to get checked and find it early. If you are over 45 years, have a family history or are experiencing any of the common symptoms, speak to your GP.
