Lake Macquarie City Council is partnering with SEEDS Newcastle for a FREE event Sunday 29th August 9.30-11am in Windale because they recognise healthy nutrition and eating in young children can be challenging!

With so many foods labelled as “healthy”, it can be overwhelming knowing what’s best for our kids and how we can ensure they are getting all the vitamins and nutrients that they need to thrive. Parents are invited to join this demonstration on how they can best nourish their children from the inside. Register here:

Yes, protein is essential—but you don’t need meat to get enough. 🌱

The average adult only needs about 42 grams of protein per day. Most people, especially meat-eaters, consume far more than that. And guess what? Vegetarians and vegans typically get 70% more than they need, too—without trying.

📊 Here’s the breakdown:
🍛 1 cup lentils = ~18g protein
🌮 1 cup black beans = ~15g
