During my 40 year career as a professional clairvoyant, I have heard of accounts from people who have found themselves victims of exploitation under the guise of Psychic Guidance.
We have all seen the exposes of shop front operators who exploit the vulnerable by taking large amounts of money to remove "family curses". Once exposed on camera, these unscrupulous individuals pack up and move on.
In recent years here in Newcastle we were letter box bombarded by "Mrs Jones" announcing she was offering readings and of course proclaiming herself to be an expert in the field.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before I found myself reading for a man who had been to see "Mrs Jones". He had become suspicious and was seeking confirmation from me. "Mrs Jones" had told him he had a family curse and it was going to cost him a lot of money to lift the curse.
He had paid her for the reading and then several thousands in order to remove the curse. "Mrs Jones" used some gadgets of coloured sand in the curse lifting.
She then advised that the clearing was only partially successful and her price went up to around $16,000.00 to give the man's family a completely curse-free future.
Most of us, thankfully, would see through this nonsense straight away but unfortunately a lot of Aussies still have strong links to historic beliefs and superstitions from other cultures which means they are extremely vulnerable to being robbed in this way.
I was approached by a woman, her husband and brother approximately 40 years ago. They were totally convinced that their family carried a curse and were begging me to find a way of lifting it. The belief has come up from time to time in the course of my work.
There is nothing psychic about telling people that their family is cursed and demanding large sums of money to clear the curse. It is a criminal offense. It is fraud. It is robbery!! It makes me ashamed and angry to know that people are still being robbed in this way.
Please spread the word that a "curse" is a ridiculous concept in today's world.
Everyone is free to live their life in their own way - free from this medieval nonsense.
