🌿 Celebrating 50 Years of NAIDOC Week 🌿

This week marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week – a powerful celebration of the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At NDNS, we’re proud to stand in solidarity and celebration. Our team is wearing specially designed NAIDOC lanyards to honour this year’s theme and to show our support and respect.

NAIDOC Week is not just a time of reflection, but a time of recognition and action. Let’s all take a moment to listen, learn, and celebrate the oldest continuing culture on Earth.

🌿 National Reconciliation Week | 26 May – 3 June 2025 🌿

This week, NDNS proudly acknowledges National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history and the journey toward healing and unity.

This year's theme reminds us that reconciliation is everyone's business — and we all have a role to play in building respectful relationships and creating a fair and inclusive future.

At NDNS, we are committed to walking alongside our First Nations clients, staff, and communities with empathy, cultural awareness, and respect. We continue to listen, learn, and support actions that foster genuine reconciliation in all areas of our work.

We encourage everyone in our community to take a moment to learn about the significance of this week and explore how you can be part of the change.

Happy International Nurses Day to all the nurses and our community care staff.

Today, we celebrate the nurses who bring compassion, care, and comfort directly into our neighborhoods and homes. Your work often happens quietly, but its impact is powerful and lasting.

From managing chronic conditions to offering a listening ear — thank you for being a lifeline in our communities.

We see you. We appreciate you. We thank you.

Lest We Forget.

This Anzac Day, we pause to remember and honour the brave men and women who have served—and continue to serve—our country with courage and sacrifice.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.

This powerful line from the Ode of Remembrance, taken from Laurence Binyon’s poem For the Fallen, is recited each Anzac Day to ensure the legacy of those who gave everything will never be forgotten.

We are proud to support and care for our Veteran community every day, providing dedicated nursing services with the dignity and respect they deserve.

A special thank you to our amazing NDNS nurses—Jess, Jade and Tess—who represented us at the dawn services in both Newcastle and Taree by laying wreaths in honour of our fallen heroes.

This marks an exciting new chapter for our organisation, and while the coming days will be a busy transition period, we look forward to settling into our new premises and continuing to deliver the highest level of care and service to our clients.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Shortland community for their support over the years, and we look forward to welcoming both clients and staff to our new Cardiff office.
