replaying the same thoughts, searching for certainty.

This is the restless mind—
pulled by attachment and resistance.

Awareness is the shift.
You don’t fight thoughts… you observe them.

They arise, stay briefly, and pass.

There is nothing to fix.
You don’t need to fix every feeling or sensation that moves through you.

Healing often begins with witnessing rather than doing.

So pause for a moment.
Notice what is here.
A sensation in the body.
An emotion rising.
A thought passing through.

Name it gently, with kindness instead of judgement.

Breathe with it.
Allow it to be present without trying to push it away, analyse it, or make it disappear.

Feelings are not problems to solve.
They are experiences asking to be acknowledged.

When we stop fighting what we feel, something begins to soften.
The body no longer has to stay on guard.
It can begin to settle.

In this quiet, compassionate awareness, your nervous system remembers safety.
The energy begins to move.
The tension begins to release.

And slowly, in that space of allowing,
you find your way back —
not by fixing yourself,

One beautiful way to send Reiki is by creating a Reiki Energy Ball.

Focus your intention, visualise the energy forming into a glowing, vibrant ball in your hands, and allow it to fill with Reiki. You can then send this energy ball out into the world, or direct it to a special person, place, or situation.

This technique is a powerful way to share healing energy, intention, and love across distances — bringing calm, support, and balance wherever it is needed.

Reiki Energy Ball

Get comfy and breathe
Sit or stand comfortably. Take a few slow breaths and imagine yourself surrounded by calm, peaceful energy.

Make your Reiki Energy Ball
Hold your hands out in front of you, about the size of a small ball. Imagine a glowing, warm ball of light forming between your hands. This is your Reiki Energy Ball!

Add the Distance Symbol
Draw or imagine the Distance Symbol (Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen) in the air or over your energy ball. This helps the Reiki travel anywhere — to a person, a place, or even the world.

Fill it with Reiki
Imagine the ball glowing brighter as you fill it with healing, love, calm, and protection. You can whisper or think:
“This Reiki is for (person/place/the world) to feel better and be safe.”

Send it out
Visualise the ball floating gently to the person, place, or situation you are sending it to. Watch it travel with the Distance Symbol guiding it.

Smudging

Smudging is a simple practice used to cleanse and clear energy from a person, space, or object. Just as we clean our physical environment, smudging helps refresh the energetic atmosphere and restore a sense of balance and calm.

Traditionally, herbs such as white sage, palo santo, or other sacred plants are gently burned, allowing the smoke to move through the space. The smoke is believed to help clear stagnant or heavy energy and invite in clarity, peace, and harmony.

You can smudge:

Yourself – to release heavy emotions or reset your energy

Your home or workspace – to clear old or stagnant energy

Objects or tools – such as crystals, cards, or healing tools

Reiki Bear Distance Healing Procedure

Begin with your Reiki preparation.
Take a few quiet moments to centre yourself. Breathe slowly and deeply, allowing your body and mind to settle. Ground your energy and connect to Reiki in the way you have been taught. Invite the flow of Reiki to move through you for the highest good of the person receiving the healing.

Activate the Reiki Bear.
Draw or visualise the Distance Symbol on the Reiki Bear. This symbol helps bridge time and space, allowing the energy to reach the intended recipient wherever they are.

Add any additional support.
If you feel guided, draw any other Reiki symbols you work with onto the bear or into the space around it. You may also place crystals, hold a crystal in your hand, or create a small sacred space to support the healing process.

Set your clear intention.
Gently hold the Reiki Bear and repeat the intention aloud or silently:
“As I give Reiki to this Reiki Bear, I am sending Reiki to (person’s name). May this energy flow for their highest good.”

Begin the Reiki session.
Treat the Reiki Bear as if it represents the person receiving the healing. Place your hands on the bear in the same positions you would use during a full Reiki session. Allow the energy to flow naturally through your hands.

Trust the flow of Reiki.
Stay present with the energy as it moves. Reiki will go where it is most needed. Continue the session for the length of time that feels appropriate, allowing the healing energy to flow through the bear and onward to (person’s name).

Close the session.
When the session feels complete, thank Reiki for the healing that has taken place. Gently disconnect from the session, clearing your energy and grounding yourself. You may also seal the session with gratitude and the intention that the energy continues to integrate in the best possible way for (person’s name).

Take a final moment of stillness, honouring the healing that has been offered. ✨

It never asks you to accept harm or abandon yourself.

You can love fully and still say no.
You can care deeply and still choose distance.

Love lives in the heart.
Boundaries keep us safe.

When you stop sacrificing yourself,
you create space for a love that is honest and sustaining.

Unconditional love begins within.
It includes you.
