🌟 Moving time 🌟

To my dear clients,

Many of you would know by now that my lease in Bolton St is ending. I have decided that after 8 years of working in the CBD that the time has come to move my business closer to home. From the 28th of May 2022 you will be able to find me inside Yum Mum Tum at 137 Beaumont St, Hamilton.

My lovely friend Gemma, owner of Yum Mum Tum, has a space separate to her shop where I will be setting up my business. It will be a great location for my pregnant and postnatal clients where you can relax after your treatment with a cup of tea and have a browse through the shop. I will still be seeing my remedial clients, new clients, and clients with gift vouchers, so you definitely don’t have to be pregnant to book an appointment!

The shop is located in the same block as Mockingbird Cafe and the Exchange Hotel. If you are unfamiliar with Beaumont St then just look out for my sandwich board on the footpath outside the shop. Entry to my new space is through Yum Mum Tum where I will meet you and take you through for your treatment.

I will be changing my address on the Fresha App which will come up on your confirmation and reminder message and email.

Parking is free on Beaumont St but can be tricky at certain times of the day. I would recommend leaving extra time to find a park before your appointment.

I am extremely busy at the moment with the wait time at least 5 weeks for an appointment. I do have a cancellation list if you would like to be notified if an appointment opens up. My after hours and Saturday appointments are always the first spots to fill up, so if you are needing something outside of business hours I would recommend booking well in advance.

If you aren’t able to get in to see me then I can highly recommend Janice in Hamilton, and Emily in New Lambton. Both are amazing massage therapists!

✨Covid-19 update✨

Following the advice from the NSW Government, Remedial massage is listed under health services which are to remain open as an essential service.

At this stage I will be OPEN for the duration of the lockdown

We are doing everything we can in the clinic to provide a safe environment for you to receive your treatment.

🌿Our lovely Riina will be leaving us at the end of August to move back home to Finland 😢 which means that we are now looking for someone to join our team of 3 remedial massage therapists who share the space and all work independently 🌿

🌿We are looking for a friendly, reliable holistic healthcare professional to rent a room in our clinic situated in the centre of Newcastle CBD. Lots of exposure to foot traffic, 2 hour street parking available and close proximity to the tram line, cafes, beach and the business district.

🌿The room would suit a Massage Therapist / Bowen / Reiki / Shaitsu practitioner / Naturopath / Kinesiologist / Hypnotherapist or similar. Other modalities are most welcome to apply.

🌿It is the ideal space for an independent, reliable, mature-minded and friendly individual who appreciates a peaceful and harmonious work environment, and would fit in well with the existing practitioners. A strong existing client base is desired. Own professional indemnity insurance is a must.

🌿The room is situated on the first floor of the building, has lift access and its own convenient entrance from the hallway. There is a gorgeous leafy outlook from the room onto Bolton street, with an abundance of natural light. The room comes partially furnished with an electric treatment table, desk, storage cubes and is air-conditioned.

🌿There is a shared waiting area and kitchen but no reception admin staff so you would take your own bookings and payments. There is a possibility to use existing Eftpos and HiCaps facilities should these be needed.Free Wi-Fi included.

🌿Rent is $90 day, or weekly rent can be negotiated.
The room is available from 31st August 2021 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I recently completed 3 days of training with and a lovely bunch of practitioners in the treatment of TMJ dysfunction.

I have now added a seperate treatment for TMJ dysfunction to my list of services and will be offering this as a 60 minute or 90 minute treatment.

The treatment is a combination of gentle Myofascial release and Craniosacral therapy techniques, which help to calm the nervous system and release and unwind the fascia in the jaw, neck, face and pelvis.

This treatment may include intra-oral myofascial work (internal mouth work) on the lateral and medial pterygoids which are muscles located inside the mouth, and are important to release as a part of this treatment for optimal results. This technique is performed with gloves.

Some signs and symptoms that you may be experiencing TMJ dysfunction are:

• TMJ pain
• maxillary pain
• Reduced capacity to fully open the jaw
• Chronic neck & shoulder pain
• Headaches and migraines
• Clicking sounds in the temporo-mandibular joint
• Forward head posture

If you are suffering from TMJ issues and would like more information, please get in contact with me and I can explain the treatment in greater detail. This is a deeply relaxing treatment and will benefit most people, even those without TMJ issues.

With the colder weather and the rise in Covid cases, please be sure to cancel or reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell. You will also need to check in with my QR code when you arrive and make sure to wear a mask into the clinic.

I am still working Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every 2nd Saturday. My books are full until the 2nd of September but cancellations do pop up every now and then. This year has been busier than ever for my little business and I am so grateful to all of my lovely clients for your support 💚

A lovely night celebrating the 2021 Newcastle Baby magazine launch🤰💜

As this week is Perinatal Mental Health Week, this years launch was in support of PANDA. Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia 💜

It was so inspiring to be in a room filled with so many like-mined people who all share a passion in supporting mums through pregnancy and beyond.

There are so many incredible businesses that are a part of this magazine. I wish I knew about them all when I was pregnant!!
Next time I will definitely be adding some of these services to my pregnancy self care list 💜
