Under Construction turns 17! 🎉🎉🎉
What a joy, what a wonderful journey we have had. Inspiring, uplifting and the happiest choir.

Thursday 10th April 2008 was our first meeting day 17 years ago, 9 people formed the choir, and today it has grown to over 40.
This growth just goes to show the power of music and the need for support in the mental health community.

We have performed over 150 concerts in 17 years. Our first concert was for a homelessness forum at Rutherford in 2008, and our latest was the Newcastle Fringe Festival on Saturday 29th of March 2025.

With out the ongoing support of the community where would we be….Thank You…

Congratulations to everyone on making this happen. Here’s to more years of song, laughter, love, and support.

Merry Christmas to all our wonderful followers.

For many people Christmas can be hard.
It's a harsh reminder of loneliness, grief, family estrangement, and financial strain.

Get ready for our fourth annual Choir Day which will as always be held at the stunning Hamilton Uniting Church.

Set on a Saturday for the whole family to enjoy a full day of local and visiting iconic choirs, Newcastle will be set to sing their hearts out in this amazing venue of acoustic delights.

We are so grateful to have Hamilton Uniting Church with us once again to celebrate the joy the song and everything Fringe!

Under construction mental health choir joined a number of choirs to perform at the Lake Macquarie Festival of Choirs for a joyous celebration of choral music.

Despite many of the choir being away due to illness, we sang out proudly and performed well.

The choir would like to acknowledge the contribution of Bendigo Bank over the last 2 years whose support has been immense and thoughtful, giving not only help with rent but contributing towards other musical projects and opportunities.
