Lately, we’ve been hearing from participants outside of our service who have been feeling let down by their support coordinator.

When it’s working well, support coordination should feel responsive, respectful, and genuinely helpful, not frustrating or confusing.

If you or someone you know would like a free chat with our team leader to get clarity on your current NDIS plan and options, call us on 0411 803 777.

We have the capacity to support participants on the Central Coast, Newcastle, and broader Hunter region at the moment.

Some people come to us feeling worn out after trying to get the support they need through their NDIS plan.
They have been chasing answers.
Trying to work out who to trust.
Doing their best to hold everything together on their own.
Nothing feels clear.
And small decisions feel heavier than they should.

Over time, things can start to shift.
The plan begins to make sense.
There is someone to talk things through with.
Decisions feel simpler.
Support starts to fit the person, not just the system.
There is more calm.
More confidence.
Less second guessing.

This is the difference independent Support Coordination can make.
No pressure.
No hidden agenda.
Just steady, clear guidance.

At Newcastle Social Workers, we stay independent on purpose.
So your plan stays yours.

If you would like a bit more clarity, you are always welcome to reach out for a free 15-minute chat by calling 0411 803 777, or you can get more information on our website www.newcastlesocialworkers.com.au

The team had an awesome day filming at the Studio today.

It was a very busy and fun day for everyone.

It was also a great reminder of why we do the work that we do.

It’s about creating life changing positive outcomes for the people we support.

Adam and Chrissy both gave heartfelt interviews that really reminded us all of why we do what we do as NDIS support coordinators.

If you or someone you know needs an NDIS support coordinator in the Newcastle or Central Coast, get in touch with us via our website www.newcastlesocialworkers.com.au :)

There is a viral video going around at the moment on YouTube and social media that was posted to Pete Z and Drew Pavlou's channel on the topic of exposing fraud within the NDIS.

This video has sparked a lot of outrage in the community and has had over 219,000 views within the first 4 days since it's release.

One of the key issues in the original video is some misinformation regarding the number of NDIS providers in the Lakemba area. Chris Coombes from DSC posted on this topic this morning, noting that the NDIA's deputy CEO, John Dardo, clarified that there are actually only 17 registered providers and 205 active unregistered providers in the Lakemba area (as opposed to the 1300 providers that was reported in the media).

This is due to errors in the NDIS provider register (which is currently a very poorly managed online register). It shows a list of everyone who has registered their intent to provide services in an area, many of which are not even active.

Kurt has filmed a reaction video where he comments on various aspects of the original video, essentially fact-checking it and providing further explanation for people who don't have an in-depth knowledge of the NDIS.

This week, our director Kurt has filmed a video for NDIS participants and family members about:

'How to keep yourself safe from exploitation in the NDIS'.

This is a very important topic. Unfortunately, we have seen many cases of exploitation over the years that could have been easily prevented if families and participants had been made aware of this information earlier.

There have been some improvements to the scheme recently aimed at reducing fraud, and we hope to see this trend continue.

Michelle recently attended the Able Plus event at Wallsend Diggers. It was great to meet and connect with other passionate providers who are deeply committed to supporting their communities and delivering high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS participants. The conversations focused on a shared commitment to empowering people, promoting inclusion, and making sure participants get tailored supports that match their goals and aspirations.

It was a great event that reinforced the importance of collaboration and partnership in delivering meaningful outcomes for NDIS participants across the Hunter and Central Coast!
