I have been teaching hatha yoga for 20 years in Sydney, Newcastle and in Leeton, NSW. I hold a BA in sociology and a Certificate IV in yoga teaching. I have also undertaken further studies in pre/post-natal yoga and the applied anatomy and physiology of hatha yoga. Over time, and following the birth of my two children, my yoga sadhana has evolved and matured along with my teaching. Naturally I have become passionate about crafting yoga practices that are relevant and sustainable throughout different phases of our life as well as finding freedom through yoga during times of illness or injury. In my classes, you will learn about active movement and intelligent sequencing to enhance and regulate the flow of energy throughout your body. You will build greater strength and mobility with regular practice, as well as bringing your body and mind into alignment. Ultimately, I love to create a warm environment filled with joyous yogic rituals that will help to awaken your inner light. Green Belt Yoga was born in 2011, shortly after I moved to Leeton with my family. The name reflects the rich agricultural surrounds of the Riverina and a special opportunity to share my love of yoga with the local community. I was blessed with 10 successful and heartwarming years teaching in the country. For the vast majority of my students, our tranquil loft studio allowed them to be immersed in yoga for the very first time. I am so grateful for the connections and friendships made and the opportunities and endless learning through teaching yoga in a remote, rural environment. I continue to love working with small group classes, personalised instruction and online tuition. Please follow the Green Belt Yoga page to stay up to date with future yoga class offerings as my family and I settle back into coastal Newcastle. Namaste
