Considering BBL (BroadBand Light) this spring? It’s a light-based treatment that can be used to address concerns such as pigmentation, redness and uneven tone.

Spring is often a good time, as skin is less likely to be recently tanned and it can be easier to stay consistent with sun protection and after-care.

Book a consultation at 4D Cosmetic Rooms. Together, we’ll assess your skin and build a safe treatment plan that’s right for you.

Results vary from person to person.

Not all sunscreens are created equal.

recently tested 31 sunscreens – and only 12 delivered the SPF protection they claimed. One of the top performers was ’s Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF50+, with full SPF 50+ and broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection confirmed.

At 4D, we only recommend sunscreens that are:
• Clinically tested for SPF and UV protection
• Recommended by dermatologists
• Formulated for sensitive skin
• Lightweight and wearable under makeup

Up to 90% of visible ageing is caused by UV exposure. Daily SPF is one of the most effective ways to protect your skin in the long term.

Available now at 4D Skin Clinic, Newcastle.

Meet Mel - our new Cosmetic Nurse at 4D

With more than 15 years’ experience in cosmetic nursing and a background in critical care, Mel brings an exceptional level of expertise - and a genuine passion for helping patients feel their most confident.

Before moving into cosmetics, Mel worked in the John Hunter Hospital ICU and PICU, and was part of the JHH retrieval service, transporting critically injured patients by ambulance and Westpac rescue helicopter. After her second child, she transitioned to cosmetic nursing, and has never looked back.

Mel’s approach is multifaceted: she takes time to listen, build trust, and educate her patients so they feel informed and empowered. While she loves all treatments, she has a particular passion for restoring skin texture, quality and radiance using light-based devices - always aiming for natural, timeless results that retain youthfulness without ever looking overdone.

Outside the clinic, Mel is an avid traveller, beach lover, and foodie who’s always up for a good restaurant recommendation. She’s excited to join 4D because of our shared commitment to skin health and the wide range of non-surgical rejuvenation options available here.

Mel is now available for appointments - we know you’ll love her as much as we do.

Tips on how to improve hydration of dry skin:

1. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.

2. Moisturize: Use a moisturizer that suits your skin type, twice a day or more if necessary. Look for moisturisers containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides, which help seal in moisture.

3. Avoid hot water: Hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness. Use lukewarm water instead when you bathe or shower.

4. Consider a humidifier: Dry indoor air can further dehydrate your skin. Using a humidifier in your home can help add moisture to the air and keep your skin hydrated.

5. Choose gentle skincare products: Avoid harsh soaps or other skincare products that contain alcohol or fragrances, as they can further dry out your skin or cause irritation.

Of course if you continue to experience dry skin despite these measures, it may be a good idea to see your doctor for further assessment.

Struggling with pigmentation? Let 4D help!

Pigmentation, especially melasma, can be tricky to manage as it often affects multiple layers of the skin and can be hormonally driven. At 4D Skin Clinic, we take a multi-faceted approach to help you achieve your best skin health.

Here’s how we tackle it:
✨ Reduce pigment production with sunscreens protecting against UVA/UVB and visible light, and stabilize hormones where possible.
✨ Restrict pigment transfer using tailored topical/oral tyrosinase inhibitors.
✨ Remove excess pigment gently through chemical peels or advanced laser treatments.
✨ Optimize skin health with personalized skincare routines to ensure long-term results.

Please note: This information is for educational purposes only and should not be taken as medical advice. Individual results vary, and a consultation is required to assess your unique needs and create a tailored treatment plan.

Pigmentation is manageable, not curable—but with the right care, you can enjoy healthier, brighter skin!

📅 Book your consultation now and begin your journey to glowing, even skin!
