Family Planning Australia We are a leading provider of reproductive and s*xual health services for every body in every family

Family Planning Australia is a leading provider of reproductive and s*xual health services. We are experts on reproductive and s*xual health and provide clinical services and health information to people throughout NSW. We have five clinics and numerous outreach sites across NSW, providing best practice care for every body in every family. As well as face-to-face healthcare, we offer telehealth services, a Talkline, Pregnancy Help Line and an extensive health promotion service. In Newington, Sydney, we have a licensed day procedures unit. Our diverse business is trusted to deliver accredited education programs for professionals across Australia and undertake rigorous research and evaluation into issues and trends in reproductive and s*xual health. Our international development program advances s*xual and reproductive health and rights in the Pacific, and we advocate as a non-governmental organisation with United Nations consultative status. Family Planning Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation responsible to a voluntary board of directors and we rely on government funding, donations and self-generated income to provide our services. We are registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Our government funding comes from the Federal and NSW governments, as well as Local Health Districts. Founded in 1926, we are the oldest family planning service in Australia.

There is a significant gap in access to reproductive and s*xual health services for people living in regional and remote NSW.

The SEARCH project improves access to services such as medical abortion and long-acting reversible contraception by supporting health providers to deliver accessible and equitable care.

By partnering with the SEARCH project, health workers can build services locally and receive support to deliver high quality and financially sustainable reproductive and s*xual health services.

Partners are offered professional education and training, clinical and social work services support, evaluation tools, marketing and communications resources, webinars and workshops.

Health workers and providers, become a partner today! Email searchproject@fpnsw.org.au or visit our website to find out more: fpnsw.org.au/search-project

The SEARCH project is a funded by NSW Health and delivered by Family Planning Australia.

At Family Planning Australia, we stand with communities to advocate for a world where everyone can access the s*xual and reproductive health care they need to live with dignity and thrive.

One way we do this is by serving as the Secretariat to the Australian Parliamentary Group on Population and Development (APGPD), connecting parliamentarians with advocates and experts to advance s*xual and reproductive health and rights.

We proudly facilitated a recent meeting between the APGPD and inspiring activists from SHARE - S*xual Health Advocates for Reproductive Equity to receive their open letter calling for stronger action on SRHR and universal access to contraception. Pictured here is APGPD Co-chair Dr Carina Garland receiving the letter.

Parliamentarians from across the Asia-Pacific region met over the past week in Manila for discussions focused on keeping human rights, women’s rights, and gender equality at the center of development.

The Annual Regional Conference of the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development featured presentations highlighting key priorities for gender equality, investing in youth, climate change, and active ageing.

Our Senior Advocacy Officer Meg Connor presented on the importance of taking a life course approach to s*xual and reproductive health, including Australian initiatives to better address the impacts of menopause and perimenopause.

🌟GROUNDBREAKING TRAINING BRINGS NEW HOPE FOR CERVICAL CANCER PREVENTION IN RMI🔬

The Ministry of Health and Human Services is proud to share that groundbreaking training on HPV screen-and-treat has started this week at USP Long Island (and later in CMI), led by the Kirby Institute and partners. Leadership was fully engaged, with Deputy Secretary for the Office of Health Planning, Edlen Anzures, opening the event on behalf of the Ministry’s Leadership Team (MLT).

This hands-on training gives our health workers the tools and skills they need to prevent cervical cancer — a disease that continues to claim the lives of women across the Pacific but can be stopped with early detection and treatment.

For the Marshall Islands, this marks the beginning of a stronger fight against cervical cancer. Starting next week, services will begin at the Youth to Youth Clinic, with plans to expand to outreach programs across our islands. This is more than training — it’s about saving lives, empowering women, and protecting the health of future generations. 🌺💙

Stay tuned for more updates later this week as we continue this important journey together.
