HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU GET YOUR EYES TESTED?

Even if your vision feels fine, regular eye tests are important for both clear vision and eye health.

A simple guide:

• Children: every 12 months
• Adults: every 12–24 months
• Over 65 or contact lens wearers: every 12 months

Unless your optometrist recommends more frequent checks.

Eye examinations don’t just check your prescription. They can also help detect eye conditions early, often before symptoms appear.

If it’s been a while since your last eye test, it might be time to book in.

True or False: Your optical extras reset every January 1st.
✅ True (for most!) but not all. Some health funds actually run on a financial year calendar instead.

If you’re due for new glasses, contacts or prescription sunnies, now’s the perfect time to use your benefits before they reset.

Don’t leave them on the table, book your appointment today 👇

If your eyes feel tired or dry after a long day on the laptop, you’re not alone, it’s likely digital eye strain.
All that screen time makes your eyes work overtime, leaving them sore, heavy, or a bit blurry by the end of the day.

💡 Try the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

And if you missed out on seeing the optometrist this time, don’t worry, he’ll be back in Newman again soon!

🧐 True or False:
You only need an eye test if your vision gets blurry.

❌ False!
Blurry vision is often the last sign that something’s changed. Regular eye exams help catch eye conditions early before they start affecting how clearly you see.

Our optometrist is back in Newman next week and ready to keep your eyes in top shape 👓
