The moment you’ve all been waiting for… 🤍MR & MRS MULHERIN🤍 (aka, Dr & Dr Mulherin 😏)
Declan and his beautiful wife Kirsty have been on absolute cloud nine celebrating their wedding with their closest family and friends, many who travelled across the ditch to be there with them.
They’ve spent the past week soaking up the very best of WA, snorkelling in Rotto, exploring the coast, and of course, trialling some of the South West’s finest golf courses ⛳️
Declan is back in clinic today and so excited to share all the stories with his amazing Newman and Tom Price patients!

Wow! What a crazy month March was 🤯 We had over 300 guesses at how many eggs were in our jar! No one was able to guess the exact number of 253 but Sharna was closest thanks to the help of her son who said 254!

As a chiropractor often we get asked what shouldn’t we do when we hurt ourselves? Often the answer is different for every person but the main thing is not to be afraid of movement. Most people may think that when we hurt our lower back it is important to rest and when they may have heard this advice from a Doctor, Chiro or Physio it may have been the best recommendation, but most recent research says that movement is key in all stages of rehabilitation! All of the exercises shown above have the goal of trying to improve hip and sacroiliac joint stability which are often causes of lower back pain!

Unsure what to do when you feel your lower back ‘go’ ? Here are 3 gentle exercises that will focus on keeping mobility and lower your pain! The 90/90 Position with Diaphragmatic Breathing is a great way to take the pressure off our lower back whilst also stimulating that parasympathetic nervous system! 5 mins in this position and you should feel calm and pain should be lower. Seated Good Mornings will help improve that stiffness by warming up our paraspinal muscles. Gradually pushing into slight discomfort is a great early stage rehab as it helps increase tissue capacity. Supine Knee Rocks are also ones that will help with general mobility as it is encouraging the lumbar spine and hips to rotate with minimal load which also helps with tissue capacity in early stage rehabilitation. All these exercises are not a one size fits all and should not be assumed to be right for you.
