We are a boutique, specialised Pilates studio in Newmarket in the inner nothern suburbs of Brisbane. The Studio offers a warm, intimate and relaxing environment and is under the guidance of Director Sharon Porter, certified Pilates instructor.

To Ava, one of my most recently graduating Pilates students who is (temporarily) moving to Melbourne. You are a fantastic teacher, Ava & we can’t wait to have you back teaching here.

My two youngest clients who I love working with. One, an aspiring dancer, the other a competitive swimmer. These young girls are so motivated & committed & it is a joy to assist them in chasing their dreams. Pilates is part of their busy weekly schedule, complimenting their training, performance & competition.

I have some very sad news. Peter & I said goodbye to my beautiful girl Martha as she crossed over the rainbow bridge late on Monday. We’re both heartbroken & deeply saddened. She was the most exuberant, loving & happy pup who loved everyone & everything (except maybe the squeaky ironing board & Aus Post delivery van). Every walk was a mission to meet as many people, get as many pats, say hi to as many cavoodles (we live in the Cavoodle capital of the world) as she could. Martha was very much a quirky Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier & loved to give people the ‘Wheaton greetin’. She gave us nothing but unconditional love, joy, companionship & loyalty. RIP my beautiful girl. 💜

It’s been a huge past month in my role as Pilates Educator & Course Provider for Congratulations to Ava, Ana, Hilke, Sunny & Francis for successfully completing their mat exams. You are all well on your way to becoming highly skilled & informed Pilates teachers. Last weekend saw more comprehensive training in reformer course work. I love my role as Brisbane educator for delivering comprehensive training, providing fully certified, government accredited Pilates curriculum for students.

On 19 June 2025, the PHI 51/25 Private Health Insurance Legislation Amendment Rules (No. 5) 2025 were issued, which removed the constraints on private health funds paying rebates for Pilates.
Whilst the limitation is being lifted from July 1, it is likely to be at least a few months before this is made available for our clients. We are deep in discussion with the health fund associations and some of the private health funds as to what exactly they will be covering. We will be providing regular updates on progress.

RITA! The countdown is on!!! Only four weeks till Opening Night. Cripes! We are in full-on, intensive rehearsal mode now for this wonderful play. I’m absolutely loving every moment of the process. Get ya tix, folks!
