NourishLife Chinese Medicine

NourishLife Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for Fertility and Pain Management. Since 2007 If you have any questions regarding your own issues, please feel free to ask.

Meet Dr Tia Bhana-Williams, graduated from Victoria University in 2007 with a double degree in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Pain:

Dr Bhana-Williams loves to work on pain and uses an extremely effective balancing technique which sees pain lessen on the table, at the session. Traditional Chinese Medicine sees pain as energy that is stuck, and as such this treatment will move energy to ease pain. Come in for help if you are suffering from musculoskeletal issues, nerve pain, sciatica, and lower back pain, to endometriosis and digestive pain. Whether you've had it for an hour or 25 years, sharp or numb, tingly or pins and needles, this method can help you to lead a pain free existence. Fertility:

Dr Bhana-Williams also offers nourishing, supportive treatments geared towards helping singles and couples to enhance their fertility. She applies the same kind of balancing treatment which moves energy at the reproductive organs, and also herbal medicine individually formulated especially for each person. If you are considering starting a family, or are looking at being pain free (or all of the above) acupuncture and herbal treatments with Dr Bhana-Williams can help you to achieve these things. It is also worth nothing that although Dr Bhana-Williams has an affinity for working with pain and fertility, Chinese Medicine is a dynamic and useful modality which can be used and adapted to many different issues. She is always available. You will walk out feeling very different, be empowered to make the change.

nourish blood nourish blood nourish blood
It helps not only fertility stuff but also HAIR, SKIN, NAILS.

if you are blood deficient you can feel cold easily, not get to sleep and stay asleep, not digest efficiently.

I repeat myself so much in clinic.
Being blood deficient can come from having a history of heavy periods, from overtraining and undereating, from traumatic injury, from donating BLOOD (don’t get me started). All sorts of things.

We work hard, play hard and give our all, and then of course we are getting older.
so, emphasis needs to be placed on foods, supplements, herbs and all the other things we can do to nurture and replenish BLOOD

Does this take time? Yes. BUT ITS WORTH IT.

Get in touch with me for a workable plan.

see you in clinic

Who said painful periods are normal? I’ll tell you who- men doctors- don’t get me started on patriarchy in medicine grrrrr. Anyway period pain actually responds very well with Chinese herbal med and acupuncture. And here are some simple additions that can take the edge off cyclic pain Magnesium
Fish oil (2000mg dha and epa)
Vitamin D
cinnamon ginger turmeric tea is anti inflammatory and warming.

Put your feet in hot water at night
Always have slippers or ugg boots on
Use a heat pack on your lower back and abdomen

the pain is sometimes made worse by COLD soi eat warming foods (slow cooked casseroles hearty things)

stay away from foods that make you feel cold and ARE cold: icy foods and drinks
and cooling foods like salads and things straight from the fridge.

Don’t immerse yourself in cold water when you have your period

Use pads rather than tampons let it all flow.

Move your body a little on the days before your peroid to help move stagnation .

Give me a call if you’re in pain every 20 days and let’s sort out a plan to make it stop 0439. 841 413

Just taking progesterone isnt enough.
You need to make sure your body is functioning naturally and that the progesterone is just there for a boost not a bandaid.

How?
Often its about nourishing blood
Check your bloods- we need ferritin (iron storage) to be high enough
B12 to be within a good range
And folate (NOT FOLIC ACID)
Lets make sure your blood sugar is stable especially in luteal phase
in terms of foods
Grass-fed red meat, lamb, slow cooked beef
Eggs (yolk is especially Blood-building)
Liver (small amounts, 1x weekly if tolerated)
Sardines, anchovies
Beetroot
Dark leafy greens (lightly cooked)
Black sesame seeds
Goji berries (small daily amounts)
Dates (red if available)

Over exercising will deplete you
Extremes in heat and cold will too
