Tim thoroughly enjoyed an amazing trip away to Moolomoon Homestead at Moulamein for Murray Cod opening this week. About 15 Murray Cod caught & we were lucky enough to meet and get a photo with Australian Cricket Legend & fellow fisherman Merv Hughes who was filming his TV show as we came across their boat on the water.

Tim & I love cricket & this was a real thrill! Merv and his team were fantastic people going out of their way to put a smile on our faces and have a chat about fishing!

We were filmed are are hoping to be on Merv Hughes Fishing Adventures in the New Year!

Great stuff Tim ! Great stuff happens when we push beyond on comfort zone 😎

Dylan had “one of the grousest days of his life” today catching his first ever Murray Cod at 57cm in the Loddon River!

Despite the photos no fish were kissed 🤣 and this one was carefully released to hopefully breed and keep the fishery strong.

Dylan also another much bigger Cod snapping his line. As most cod fishers will tell you after landing a good fish the adrenaline certainly goes through you and you can get a bit shaky afterwards!

Fishing truly does make people’s spirit come alive and connects us to the natural world.

If you or a family member have an NDIS plan and you would like to experience the great outdoors, please pm our page or contact Adam on 0427507004 to discuss your interests.

Before lockdown Dylan enjoyed a magnificent 3 night trip to Gariwerd/Grampians region based at Halls Gap.

We stayed in beautiful accomodation at Lakeside Holiday Park - the best holiday park I have been to.

It’s a really spiritual experience visiting this beautiful part of Victoria - the mountains are breathtaking.

The beauty of visiting the area for the nature lover is the diversity of activities: bushwalking, eco touring, discovering lookouts, wildlife viewing, fishing, rock climbing and learning about the culture of the Djab Wurrung & Jardwadjali people - a must experience for anyone that hasn’t been or visited for a while.

Today Leo & I payed homage to some amazing ancient River Red Gums along the Loddon River at Newstead & at the Big Tree at Guildford.

Up to an estimated 1000 years old, these national treasures started as a tiny spec of seed like a tiny grain of salt and stand as an inspiration to those who stand in awe at their majesty.

To think these trees started growing in the years of 1000 - the mind boggles.

At the notice board at the Guildford park we were lucky enough to see the map of Dja Dja Wurrung place names - this country has the most amazing ancient culture that I’m proud of and amazed at.

I think our Aboriginal culture is our biggest national treasure that needs to be preserved celebrated & shared with the 🌍

Leo had a great recent trip to Moama enjoying the mighty Murray with our verandah only a cast away from the water!

As a lifetime twitcher, Leo was in his element able to sit right on the verandah with his binoculars and view the many honeyeaters, water birds and kookaburras.

Other activities included the mandatory fishing, bushwalking - including some giant forest River Red Gums, cafe & dinner visits to the Moama RSL.

One of the highlights was out on the river & Leo saw a whistling kite - his favourite bird.

Leo imitated it’s call and amazingly the beautiful bird came and hovered over us for quite some time!

Leo has an amazing knowledge of birds of prey.

Today was a beautiful day with Leo exploring some of Heathcote-Graytown National Park where we were lucky enough to find a colony of Autumn Greenwood Orchids! The Entity Logo. I can’t recall seeing the species too many times before. An exciting day.
