What a reflective day—filled with both sadness and excitement!

As of June 30th, I’ll be stepping away from the wonderful space at AIM remedial. I’ve truly loved my time here, surrounded by so many inspiring people. It’s been a home away from home, and I’m so grateful for the memories and connections I’ve made.
I’m excited to see Amy emerge as Studio Vara, and to celebrate Jackson and Josie as they embark on their exciting new ventures, Ann as she continues her amazing work, and Morgan as she re-emerges in her new space! 🧡

While I’m saying goodbye for now, I’ll be returning soon in my own new space. I’m taking this time to recharge and spend quality moments with my family. Creating my new environment has been an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to reopen and continue supporting those who entrust me with their health and wellbeing.

Very much the year of the woodsnake, the letting go, to make way for the new!
It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but I’m equally excited to say hello again very soon. 🧡

Stay tuned… 😉

🌿🐍 Welcome the Year of the Wood Snake 🐍🌿

As we step into the Chinese New Year from 29 January 2025, we embrace the transformative energy of the Green Wood Snake. In Chinese culture and medicine, the snake symbolizes wisdom, renewal, and introspection - a time to shed what no longer serves us, much like a snake discards its old skin to grow anew.

The Wood element, associated with growth, renewal, and vitality, combined with the Snake’s transformative energy, creates an opportunity for harmony and balance. This year encourages us to focus on healing, personal transformation, and mindful action.

In Chinese medicine, the Wood element is associated with the Liver (Yin organ) and its paired Yang organ, the Gallbladder. The Liver is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi (our vital energy) throughout the body, detoxification, and emotional regulation, while also influencing muscle tension, vision, creativity and the sleep/dream state. Its Yang organ partner, the Gallbladder, stores and excretes bile to aid digestion and plays a key role in decision-making, and the courage to take action. Together, these organs ensure balanced Qi flow and healthy bodily function. When the Liver and Gallbladder are in harmony, we feel emotionally stable, motivated, and decisive. However, stagnation or imbalance can lead to frustration, irritability, tension, or difficulty making decisions.

I began my acupuncture journey with a needle phobia (worth a giggle, I know!). It took a special acupuncturist-in-training to help me overcome my fear, and that experience was the catalyst for starting my own path in this incredible medicine.

I’m proud to be part of such a diverse community, practicing a medicine that’s over 3,000 years old and still highly relevant today.

In my practice, I support a wide range of conditions, from fertility (including IVF support) and pregnancy care to pain management, digestive issues, allergies, stress relief, and more. I love how this medicine views the body as a whole, interconnected system rather than isolated parts—that holistic perspective is why I’m so passionate about it!

Acupuncture is practiced worldwide, and here in Australia, Acupuncture is regulated by AHPRA as an allied health profession.

Happy World Acupuncture Day to the most amazing community, and of course, to an equally amazing medicine!

Attended a great seminar by Evolve Natural Medicine, diving into Jeff Shearer’s innovative approach to addressing musculoskeletal issues. He blends specific palpation techniques with insights from Dr. Tan, Master Tung, and others to create his own comprehensive system. Highly recommend this to my fellow practitioners and eagerly anticipating implementing these techniques with my patients in clinic!
