Staying Connected in Times of Goodbye: The Role of Web Streaming in Modern Funerals

Saying goodbye to someone we love is one of the most important moments in life. At Alex Gow Funerals, we believe that no one should miss the opportunity to honour, reflect, and grieve, even if they can’t be there in person. That’s why we offer live web streaming of funeral services: a simple, respectful way to help families and friends stay connected, no matter where they are in the world.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

These words that we recite every Anzac Day were taken from a poem written by Laurence Binyon in 1914. The verse, which became known as the League Ode, has been used in association with Anzac Day commemoration services in Australia since 1921 and is broadcast nationally in every RSL at 6.00pm daily as a sign of respect to all our service men and women.
All of us at Alex Gow Funerals salute and thank them for all they have done.

As always, the Alex Gow team will be at The Gap RSL Sub-Branch tomorrow, handing out water to those who march. If you are there, be sure to pop in and say hi.

The Amazing Power of STORY by Alan Wolfelt Ph.D.

"As the 25th anniversary of the death of my father approaches, I have found myself instinctively going backwards. Back to the days just before his death when I had the honour of holding space for him as he prepared to make his transition".

This wonderful story gives us insight and understanding into the need to share stories to overcome grief.

Our free puzzle books are very popular with hundreds of entries coming in for our monthly $100 Shopping Card giveaways.
Our November winner was Doug Yelland. His wife Jan said “ It is a lovely surprise. Doug has been diagnosed with motor neuron disease and has not long moved into a nursing home. He really loves the puzzle books and uses them to keep his mind alert and hands busy.” Well done Doug.

Our December/January winner was Ian Lynch [see photo] from Wellington Point. Ian is delighted to be our winner. He received the puzzle book from their church and is looking forward to the next one.

Puzzle Books are available free from all our branches, most nursing homes & retirement villages and Meals On Wheels.
