More Than a Handshake: The Power of Gathering After a Funeral
Funerals are an essential part of the grieving process, providing a structured way for us to say our final goodbyes. The ceremony itself is a space for solemnity, reflection, and shared sorrow. However, what happens after the service can be just as, if not more, meaningful. It’s in the quiet moments that follow, the casual chats over a cup of tea, the shared laughter over a forgotten memory, the lingering hugs, that the true power of community and connection shines through.
At Alex Gow Funerals, we’ve always understood that a funeral is about more than just a service; it’s about bringing people together. That's why we’ve designed our spaces with this very purpose in mind.
Our newest facility in the Redlands and our venue in Deception Bay both feature beautifully appointed refreshment lounges. These spaces are purpose-built to be comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for gathering. They are an extension of our chapels, meaning there is a natural, unhurried flow from the service to the gathering.
Since 1840, our family has been helping Brisbane families navigate loss, and we've seen firsthand how important it is to create a space for people to gather after the formal ceremony.
