Bellies & Bubs prides itself on providing safe, beneficial and individually tailored treatments for 2nd & 3rd trimester of pregnancy, birth preparation and new mums up from 6 weeks until 2 years post-birth. Bellies & Bubs offers the only venue of it's kind in the Toowoomba Region. From the moment you enter the small studio, you'll feel a sense of calm, as your senses take in the subtle aromas of essential oils and soothing music nurtures your soul. Leah O'Malley, is the business owner and currently the Sole Practitioner at Bellies & Bubs, with over 20 years experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist, Reflexologist and 17 years experience as a Yoga Teacher and Doula (Birth Attendant - non-medical). Leah's knowledge, passion, care and guidance, within the areas of maternity and postpartum care; has built a reputation of trust and respect with Private Midwives, Midwives within the MGP at Toowoomba Base Hospital, Private Obstetricians, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Naturopaths in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. Bellies & Bubs has provider recognition with all Private Health Funds, except for Defence Health and has all relevant Insurances and Financial Association membership and accreditation. World Doula Week 2026

What an honour and a privilege it has been to walk beside beautiful families over these past 22 years.

To be welcomed into the soft, sacred spaces where life shifts, expands, wobbles and becomes something new… it is a gift I never take for granted.

Holding space, offering grounding, witnessing strength, easing fear, celebrating courage — every family, every birth story, every tender moment has shaped the doula I am today.

Here’s to the parents who trusted me, the babies who taught me and the sacred work of supporting birth in all its forms.

There is a quiet intelligence within the body during pregnancy and birth…
a natural rhythm, a deep knowing, a dance between mother and baby 🤍

When the pelvis is balanced and aligned, something beautiful happens.
The soft tissues soften and respond…
the ligaments create space…
and the bony structures of the pelvis can gently adapt and move as they are designed to.

This harmony supports baby to more easily navigate their journey —
moving through the pelvis, rotating, flexing and responding to each layer with greater ease as they make their cardinal movements in labour.

It’s not about force.
It’s about flow.
It’s about creating space.

In my Pregnancy in Balance yoga classes and Birth in Balance / Birth Ready treatments, we gently prepare the body for this dance —
✨ restoring balance through breath and movement
✨ supporting optimal pelvic alignment

Well… it’s official. I’ve entered my “sexygenarian” era 😄✨

Thank you so much to my beautiful community, dear friends and family for all the birthday love, messages and kindness as I step into my 60th year. I felt every bit of it and I’m so incredibly grateful.

Turning 60 truly feels like a privilege. With the years comes a little more wisdom, a little more freedom to be exactly who you are and a deeper appreciation for the people who walk alongside you.

What I notice most at this stage of life is how the circle gently becomes smaller… but oh so much richer. The friendships become deeper, the connections more meaningful and the love more intentional.

So here’s to being a sexygenarian — grateful, grounded, a little wiser
and still very much enjoying this beautiful life.

Next week I step into my 60th year.

By the time I return to the Sanctuary, I will be a “sexygenarian” — and I say that with a smile and deep gratitude. 🙏🏻❤️

Because aging is not something we are guaranteed.

To grow older is to gather stories.
To soften where we once braced.
To stand taller in who we are.

Aging isn’t something to dread, it’s something to earn.

Every decade has shaped me.
Motherhood shaped me.
Loss shaped me.
Love reshaped me.

This next chapter feels less about achievement and more about embodiment.
Less about proving… more about presence.

I’m taking a few days away to honour this threshold.

So I’m taking a few days off to celebrate this beautiful milestone with those I love…
To reflect on the woman I’ve been… the woman I’m still becoming. To laugh loudly. To eat cake.

Sixty feels powerful.
Grounded.
Unapologetically alive.

I’ll return — one year older, infinitely grateful. 🤍

This is not just another pregnancy yoga class. 🤍

This is birth preparation woven through breath, biomechanics and deep nervous system restoration.

Inside this retreat-style workshop, we explore how to create dynamic balance in the pregnant body — not just stretching hips or easing back pain, but understanding how your body is designed to support your baby’s journey earthside.

We’ll gently learn:

• How to bring dynamic balance to the uterus and its supporting ligaments
• How breath influences intra-abdominal and pelvic pressure (and why that matters for labour)
• How to create space at the three levels of the pelvis to support baby’s rotation and descent
• Simple, embodied pelvic protocols you can return to at home
• Nervous system regulation through guided meditation

Because birth isn’t just physical.

It’s hormonal.
It’s neurological.
It’s emotional.

And when a woman feels calm, connected and informed — her body responds.

We’ll close with a deeply restorative guided meditation and you’ll leave with a gifted eye pillow and affirmation card — something tangible to anchor you in trust in the weeks ahead.

This beautiful 2 hour mini retreat is educational, intentional, nurturing and soul enriching.

With some basic birth anatomy, we will explore the importance of pelvic alignment and balance, the important role of your baby to achieve several rotations, flexion and extension, called cardinal movements to navigate the pelvic space.

Through specific yoga positions, pelvic movement and transitions, mindful breath practices and pelvic floor awareness; you will gain a deeper level of understanding of how you can achieve an empowered, physiological birth.

Throughout your practice you will be provided with the additional support of bolsters, blocks and blankets.

Your practice concludes with a beautiful yoga nidra (non sleep deep rest) guided meditation; which fosters calm and relaxation and brings you into a more regulated nervous system.

Your retreat concludes with a nourishing cup of herbal tea and refreshment, although this is optional.

Location : The Mumma’s Retreat at The Nesting Place, 5A Clairmont Street, Newtown, Toowoomba

Date : Sunday, 22nd March, 2026

Time: 2 – 4 pm (please arrive at 1:45pm)

Fee: $75 (incl GST)

Classes are kept small, so bookings are essential.

What to bring:- a water bottle and your own yoga mat, if you wish. Although this is not a requirement, as everything else is provided. ie Mats, Blocks, bolsters, pillows etc., for your comfort.

You will receive your own eye-pillow and birth affirmation card.
