In Zenthai Shiatsu the concept of Focused Intention is central, which involves the alignment of intentions and energies between client, therapist and the session itself.
It places a spotlight in certain areas of the body, sensations or feelings, creating a deeper connection. It allows therapist to intuitively respond to client's needs and create a tailored experience.
A key practice in Focused Intention is Focused Attention. Usually people find easy to be distracted, there is lots of thoughts and ideas within their headspace, making it difficult to notice subtle feedback from their bodies, unable to sense, feel and witness their experience at that moment in time.
Focus attention is used as a tool to help client to cultivate a stability of awareness, where a space is created and patient can do something to receive the desired outcome whether it's through the structual, energetic or emotional body.
Deep breath of awareness and allowing yourself to be held can help to release some tensions in areas initially focused.
When we learn how to focus we can choose our experiences and it may help to reduce down stress, also those traumas activations or emotional responses may stop and the nervous system becomes regulated and balanced.
