Today we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice and service of all who have served — and those who continue to serve.
We acknowledge the enduring legacy of service carried by veterans and serving members, and the impacts of service long after the uniform is worn.
Lest we forget.

This week, South Eastern Private Hospital marked Falls Awareness with a fun and interactive activity for our staff — all with one important goal in mind: keeping our patients safe.
Through a Falls Awareness scavenger hunt, our teams refreshed their knowledge on falls prevention and best‑practice safety measures used throughout the hospital. Activities like this help ensure our staff remain vigilant, informed and committed to providing a safe environment for everyone in our care.
Thank you to our incredible teams for taking part and continuing to put patient safety first, every day.

✨ Celebrating Our People ✨

Last week we hosted our Service Recognition Afternoon Tea, a special occasion dedicated to celebrating the incredible commitment of our long‑serving team members.

This year, we honoured 29 dedicated employees, recognising milestones ranging from 5 to an outstanding 35 years of service. Each award, presented in five‑year increments, reflects the loyalty, expertise and passion our staff bring to patient care every day.
Thank you to each of our award recipients for your continued dedication and the lasting impact you make on our hospital community.

Staff across the hospital were encouraged to wear orange and take part in activities on the wards, creating moments of connection, learning and shared celebration. We also came together for a staff lunch to mark Harmony Week and Eid Mubarak, celebrating unity, respect and belonging.

This week, we took the opportunity to remind everyone about the importance of minimizing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to test our knowledge with the AMR Week Quiz. It was fantastic to see so many people participate and complete the quiz with all the right answers!

As part of the celebration, we encouraged everyone to wear light blue in support of AMR awareness.

🏆 Congratulations to our winners!
🥇 1st Prize: Boronia
🥈 2nd Prize: Abelia
🥉 3rd Prize: Cassia

As a thank you, Boronia and Abelia enjoyed some delicious Donuts, while Cassia won some fun Lolly Bags!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated—together, we’re helping to spread awareness and reduce AMR. Let’s continue the good work and keep practicing responsible use of antibiotics.

From colourful scrubs to cheesecakes and cupcakes, our staff and patients came together to celebrate the power of connection. We shared conversation starters, enjoyed a vibrant morning tea, and reminded each other that asking “Are you OK?” can truly make a difference.

R U OK? Day is tomorrow — and South Eastern Private Hospital is getting ready to start meaningful conversations.

We know that asking “R U OK?” can be a powerful first step — but sometimes it helps to have a few gentle prompts to get the conversation flowing.

Our team has shared a few conversation starters to inspire connection and show support. Swipe through to see how we’re preparing to check in with those around us.

Let’s make tomorrow count. You don’t need to be an expert — just someone who cares enough to ask and listen.

Honouring Indigenous Wisdom in a Digital Age
Aurora Healthcare Australia proudly joins the global community in commemorating the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples on 9 August.

This year’s theme, “Indigenous Peoples and AI: Defending Rights, Shaping Futures”, invites us to reflect on how emerging technologies can both empower and challenge Indigenous communities. Artificial intelligence holds promise for preserving ancestral knowledge, revitalising languages, and improving access to culturally safe healthcare. But without ethical safeguards, it risks reinforcing bias and digital exclusion.

At Aurora Healthcare, we recognise the deep cultural, spiritual, and ecological wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Their knowledge systems have sustained communities and Country for tens of thousands of years. We believe that healthcare must honour this legacy—not just in words, but in practice.

Today, we stand with the Cancer Council and communities across Australia to mark Daffodil Day — a day to reflect, remember, and renew our shared commitment to those affected by cancer.

At South Eastern Private Hospital, we are privileged to support patients through every stage of their journey. Our dedicated Day Oncology Unit provides compassionate care throughout treatment, while our rehabilitation programs offer tailored support to help individuals regain strength and confidence in the months that follow.

May the daffodil continue to symbolise the courage of those facing cancer and the hope we hold for a brighter tomorrow.
