Ever wondered why certain therapy activities look like play?
Here’s a perfect example of how one fun task can target a whole range of important skills your child uses every day at school.
In this session, we set up an activity that involved:
🔹 Fine motor skills
🔹 Sensory play
🔹 Visual scanning
🔹 Sequencing
🔹 And even cracking a little “Morse code”
Although it looks like a game, each part of this activity was carefully chosen to support skills your child needs for tasks like:
✏️ Copying from the board
📚 Following classroom instructions
🧩 Processing information
👀 Tracking words and letters across a page
By combining movement, play, and problem-solving, children stay engaged while building the underlying skills that help them feel more confident and independent in the classroom.
It’s play with purpose and that’s the heart of Occupational Therapy. 💙
