Hi I’m Tania, a creative arts therapist..

I currently have some availability for 1:1 clay play and pottery sessions for NDIS participants at my home studio at Greens Creek (10mins from Gympie).

The sessions are designed to suit the individual needs of the participant in a safe, accessible and relaxed environment surrounded by horses, birds and lots of green space.

I procrastinated for weeks on deciding my black cockatoo sculptures’ final colour treatment.. I was so caught up in a spiralling mental dialogue telling me to ‘’try this.. try that.. no, that will look silly.. I don’t know enough about glazing.. ‘’
..and so on and so on.. 🥺

If we allow ourselves to get stuck in this spiral of uncertain negativity it can lead to low mood and stagnation.

It’s so ‘human’ of us to have these thoughts, but if we can allow ourselves to breathe, relax, notice that they are just thoughts and allow them to pass right through us, rather than getting caught up in constant rumination, we can move forward with a sense of playful curiosity, trusting our intuition and enabling us to grow and lean in to our true potential 🙌🏽

Aaannd usually our original intuitive thoughts are totally the way to go.. 👍🏽
.I was thinking of the above colour treatment whilst I was sculpting this guy several weeks ago 🤦🏻‍♀️

Feeling stuck, burnt out, disconnected from yourself and others.. maybe suffering from anxiety, procrastination, insomnia?? (I could go on an endless list of the ‘blahs’…) 😣

Allowing the mind to ‘switch’ from trying to make meaning about how our body feels by giving it the opportunity to process sensory information, for example, through the skin of the hands, can be hugely soothing to a fragile nervous system..
Clay is a great medium for re-connecting us to the felt sense, to get out of our head and into our body..

To touch the surface is to stir the depths
