Today is the day! Many kids are heading back to school this morning, including those starting kindy, prep, or a brand new school for the first time. We'd like to wish all families a smooth morning and a great start to the term.

School holidays can be a busy time for parents, carers, and grandparents alike. If you have been juggling school holiday care, helping out with little ones, or simply putting your own health on hold, now is a good moment to check in on yourself.

Everyone loves a long weekend, but if yours did not go quite to plan or you are starting to feel unwell, we are back open from 8am tomorrow morning... and you do not need to wait until we reopen to make your appointment.

You can book online right now and choose from our available male and female GPs at a time that suits you.

Many women feel more comfortable seeing a female GP, especially when it comes to discussing things like menstrual health, fertility, perimenopause and menopause.

Dr Dinusha supports women through every stage of life and has a special interest in women’s health and family care. She can help with paediatric care, family planning and contraception, PCOS and endometriosis, fertility support, cervical screening, menopause management, bone health and osteoporosis, as well as long term chronic disease care.

Dr Dinusha is known for her warm, compassionate approach and takes the time to really listen so you feel supported and confident in your care.

Appointments are available this week, including same day options when possible.

💥 We're Hiring! 💥Absolute Health & Skin Clinic is looking for a friendly and reliable Receptionist to join our team in a casual role of 15+ hours per week.

We are a busy, privately owned family medical clinic in North Rockhampton, and we are searching for someone who enjoys helping people, works well in a team, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

➡️ About the role:
You will play a key part in the day-to-day running of our clinic, supporting both patients and our medical team. Duties will include greeting and assisting patients, answering phone calls, booking appointments, processing billings and Medicare claims, preparing paperwork for doctors, and maintaining patient records.

➡️ About you:
Experience in medical reception or healthcare administration is preferred but not essential. We are looking for someone with strong communication and customer service skills, who is confident with computers, able to multitask, and brings a warm and professional attitude to their work. A compassionate nature and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are essential.

➡️ Availability:
This is a casual role with a minimum of 15 hours per week. Availability is required across our clinic hours from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.30pm, so flexibility beyond standard school hours is important.

Summer is in full swing, and the CQ sun is not messing around!

Even on busy days when you are just ducking outside to hang the washing, run errands, or spend a few minutes in the yard, your skin is still exposed. Sun damage can add up quickly, especially at this time of year.

A few simple habits can make a big difference:
☀️ Apply sunscreen daily, even for short visits outdoors
☀️ Wear a hat, sunglasses, sun shirt and protective clothing where possible
☀️ Seek shade during the middle of the day
☀️ Keep an eye on any changes to your skin
