🎉 Welcome, Jacob! 🎓

We’re excited to officially welcome Jacob to the Move OT team as an Occupational Therapist!

Jacob recently completed his Honours degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia and has stepped into his new role after graduating in 2024. Some of you may recognise him—Jacob completed one of his final year placements with us and we’re excited to have him back—this time as part of the team! We can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make with our clients and community. 👏

🚿✨ Inclusive OT Training at the Caroma Showroom!

Our team recently participated in a fantastic workshop aimed at advancing foundational skills in bathroom modifications – a crucial part of the work we do as Occupational Therapists.

The training covered:
🔹 Bathroom planning theory
🔹 Practical techniques for task analysis
🔹 Design considerations for single-user and multi-user bathrooms

The team learned how to prescribe safe, functional, and beautiful bathroom designs that meet diverse needs. A big thank you to the Caroma team for their support and expertise!

We are pleased to announce our School Holiday Occupational Therapy Group Sessions, will once again be running at our Yorketown office.

These sessions are designed to help children aged 5-18 develop essential skills through engaging, small-group activities.

Session Details:
Move OT SYP - 25 Warooka Rd, Yorketown

Time: 10AM – 12PM

Dates:
December: Tuesday 17th & Thursday 19th
January 2025: Tuesday 7th & Thursday 9th
Tuesday 14th & Thursday 16th
Tuesday 21st & Thursday 23rd

Price: $200 per session (NDIS packages and private payments accepted)

Our sessions focus on:
Tailored activities for individual needs including:
Fine & Gross Motor Skills: Activities to improve movement, balance, throwing, catching, and coordination.
Social & Emotional Skills: Helping children understand, express, and manage emotions, build relationships, and develop empathy.
Concentration & Organisation: Supporting attention and task management.
Sensory Play: Encouraging creativity and sensory exploration.

Sessions are led by an Occupational Therapist with support from an Allied Health Assistant.
