Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Orthopaedics SA GP Education Evening on Wednesday, 30th July at the Adelaide Pavilion.

It was a fantastic night of learning and connection, with insightful presentations from our specialists:

Dr George Awwad - and Dr Danny Awwad - recently attended the "Advancing the Cutting Edge: Solutions in Motion" conference in Bangkok, Thailand, held from June 13–15, 2025.
The conference provided valuable insights into the latest advancements in knee surgery, including uni-compartmental, total, and revision knee replacements, with a particular focus on the innovative applications of robotic knee replacement technology.
Dr. George Awwad and Dr. Danny Awwad are eager to incorporate these new findings into their practice, further enhancing the quality of care provided to patients at Orthopaedics SA.

🎉 Event Recap: "From Play to Age: A Comprehensive Look at Musculoskeletal Health" 🎉

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting a great evening at the Adelaide Pavilion, dedicated to advancing the knowledge of General Practitioners in musculoskeletal health. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and to Radiology SA for their generous sponsorship.

📚 Highlights of the Evening:

Dr Angela Alder-Price kicked off the night with an insightful presentation on Upper Limb Pathologies in Primary Care.
Dr George Awwad delved into the latest in Knee & Hip Arthritis treatments, illuminating current practices and emerging therapies.
A delicious buffet was served as attendees mingled and discussed the insights shared.
William Cundy offered valuable knowledge on Common Adolescent Sports Injuries, a key area of concern in primary healthcare.

Stirling Hospital is excited to announce that Dr George Awwad - Orthopaedic Knee and Hip Surgeon will commence consulting and operating at Stirling Hospital.

Dr Awwad is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in sports injuries and joint replacement, particularly of the knee and hip. He has a special interest in the latest developments in robotic surgery.

Dr Awwad graduated from The University of Adelaide in 2010 and undertook training in Orthopaedic Surgery in hospitals across South Australia and New South Wales. After becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2020, he completed three Knee and Hip Fellowships in New South Wales. These covered the fields of Sports Injuries, Hip Replacement with the Direct Anterior Approach and Robotic Surgery for Knee and Hip Replacement.
Dr Awwad is an Associate Clinical Lecturer of The University of Adelaide and is involved in several research projects including return to sport following knee injuries, and a trial assessing the longevity of different knee replacements. A keen sportsperson himself, Dr Awwad has worked with professional sports teams including the New South Wales Waratahs Super Rugby Union team and the Newcastle Knights Rugby League team during his time in New South Wales.
