We are very excited to welcome Dr Aparna Lockie to the AWARE team.

Dr Lockie is a very experienced GP, who is available for consults on Wednesdays. She is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and is looking forward to helping new and existing patients of AWARE with their perimenopause and menopause related health concerns.

She's back! We are thrilled to announce that Dr Dominique Baume has returned from her maternity leave.

Dr Baume will be available for consults and procedures on Mondays. She is looking forward to reconnecting with her previous patients, as well as meeting new patients at AWARE.

We are sad to announce that it is Dr Jane Elliott's final week of consulting at AWARE.

Dr Elliott is stepping away from consulting, to focus on her work as an educator. She will continue to educate medical students, other healthcare professionals and the general public about menopause and osteoporosis.

We are so grateful for her time at AWARE and we will all miss her dearly. We wish her all the very best in her proudly declared "encore career."

We wish to say a huge congratulations to Dr Jane Elliot for her recent recognition by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Jane received the Excellence in Women's Health Award at the recent Annual Scientific Meeting in Adelaide last week for her significant contributions to Women's Health over many years, particularly in the field of menopause.

RANZCOG recognised her commitment to teaching, research and advocacy and acknowledged that her work has played a pivotal role in strengthening services and resources to support Women's Health across the country.

Congratulations Jane! Very well deserved!

Several AWARE group members attended the RANZCOG Annual Scientific Meeting this week in Adelaide.

Dr Gemma Hardi, Dr Jess Floreani and Dr Jane Elliot were all in attendance, and Dr. Floreani delivered an incredibly practical presentation on navigating contraceptive use in challenging clinical situations.

We are thrilled that our practitioners at AWARE are committed to remaining up to date across a range of women's health problems and are considered experts in the field by our peers.

Dr Tiffany Brooks (health psychologist at AWARE) has helped with the development of the REST trial (Randomised E-hypnotherapy for Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome trial) to assist people experiencing persistent/chronic pelvic pain.

The trial is currently recruiting individuals experiencing persistent/chronic pelvic pain, to participate in their 7 week free online pelvic pain education and hypnotherapy program.

Persistent/chronic pelvic pain may include a range of conditions including Endometriosis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Lower Back Pain, Cystitis, Painful Bladder Syndrome, Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, etc

AWARE Women's Health is under new management! Dr Gemma Hardi, Dr Jessica Floreani, Dr Sarah Maltby and Mrs Emma Green are all very excited to continue the wonderful service founded by Dr Melissa Slattery. We wish Dr Slattery all the very best in her retirement and look forward to providing ongoing specialised care in women's health.
