Holidays are not always pleasant right? Travelling the world π still comes with challenges at every turn..
How do you face those challenges when they arise? as they always will.
Living your best life isn't about having no challenges or drama. But in how we face it.
Challenges we faced on our caravan and camping trip to the Great Ocean Road were many. Teenagers in close proximity. Family in close proximity. Family dynamics on display for everyone in the caravan park to witness if they chose. Not that anyone really cares.
Not having our own space.
20km wind every day. Rain when packing up camp. Cold victorian weather on our 'relaxing beach holiday'. Mud. Dirt blowing up. Sand whipping up. Threat of fire and flood.
Differing musical tastes.
Differing choice of activities.
Battery running out in car.
Locking keys in caravan.
Midgie bites.
Hot nights in caravan due to hot flushes, sleeping next to snoring husband.
Being out of my normal routine that keeps me sane. Meditation. Movement. Mindset.
Feeling the need to please everyone else.
Realising how addicted to our devices we all are.
Missing my girlfriends.
So a family holiday is not pleasant all the time. But spending quality time and bonding is important. Getting to know each other again.
Finding ways to connect and communicate with each other in healthy ways is key.
We are never perfect humans. But we can try to be better and live up to our own values - to be who we want to be.
Peace and love, Toni π
