I support Youth & their families through several organisations as well as my own private practice. I am a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, an Autism Parent Coach, and a Family Contact Supervisor. I am the CEO & Founder of a Volunteer-based Youth & Family Mental Health Charity, based on the Central Coast of NSW. I'm also a Wife and a Mum of four ranging in ages from 12 to 23. MY PASSION IS HELPING PEOPLE THRIVE
I combine my Professional Experience and Qualifications, with 23 years of parenting four children (ages 12 to 23, including raising a son with autism), my Christian values, my personal experience of overcoming mental health challenges to help individuals and families overcome their mental, emotional and spiritual challenges. At the age of 6, my son, Joshua, was diagnosed with Autism. Going against the recommendation to put him on antipsychotic medication, my husband and I choose to go down the path of helping him overcome his challenges. Now at the age of 18, Josh is thriving and has pushed past all the limits and boundaries that were placed on him. You can read more about Josh's story at https://lighthousefamilysupport.com.au/joshua-s-story

In my 30’s I was diagnosed with a mental health disorder. I successfully overcame my diagnosis and now use my own success stories and life experience as motivation to help others. I have mentored and coached youth and young adults to help them overcome obstacles in their lives, many of which have gone on to achieve much more than they'd ever imagined possible. I approach my clients in a non-judgmental, caring, and authentic way. I established LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY SUPPORT, a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practice in response to the growing need for Christian-based mental health support. I am a faithful Catholic and know that although life can be hard, bringing God into our mess, always makes things better. I established CHOOSE THRIVE, a Youth and Family Mental Health & Wellbeing Charity in response to the growing need for mental health support for youth and young adults, particularly on the Central Coast. I am in the process of partnering with other organisations, and community individuals to fulfill their needs. My vision is to live in a world without mental health issues, family breakdowns and suicides. I enjoy collaborating with other people whose values and vision of the future aligns with mine. My Christian values of Faith, Family, Freedom, Community, Compassion & Truth are what drives me. I love to see people living a life of purpose, passion, and peace, seeing people be their best. I honestly believe, that given the right support, everyone has the capacity to thrive.

Was great hearing Jason Evert give a talk on ‘How to find your soulmate without losing your soul’ a few nights ago in Sydney. Jason is a world-renowned Catholic speaker helping youth and young adults live a life of faithful love in the hookup culture that our kids are surrounded by. The media hates him, but the young people love him. We had more than 20 from our Central Coast Parish travel my mini bus to Sydney to hear him speak. They all loved him. What a night. What a speaker. What an amazing faith we have!

Many spiritual and Mental Health battles begin in the mind. Our thoughts drive our feelings and our feelings drive our behaviour and actions. Want to win the battle? Start with your mind. Take control of your thoughts. Just because you think something, does not make it true. Reject thoughts from satan, embrace thoughts from God.

You CAN win the battle over your mind.

We Care Connect is run by a lovely lady I know. They do so many great things for kids and families on the Central Coast. They are in desperate need for school essentials for all the kids who don’t have access to them as they head back to school in a few weeks. If anyone can help, they have several drop off points around the coast. X

This is crunch time – what should we do? We have received 163 request for school packs in the last 2 days and are now up to 756 requests.

We can try to keep meeting the need but we have run out of funds. Some donations are starting to come in but not enough.

Do we stop and tell caseworkers they are out of luck or do we hope that enough donations will come in?

We are at least 150 backpacks short at this stage, and the average cost for a filled Backpack is $80.
Can you help out by donating money via our website or taking brand new Back2School essentials to our drop off partners.
