Here’s a look at our space !

A year ago we had a vision of setting up a well-being space where our participants could come and have access to a range of different activities. Our vision was a space that could offer a controlled environment where they could improve their wellbeing, build their capacity and improve their life skills. Most important was creating a safe space where they felt they belonged and had a secondary support system in their team.

Community You participants are all welcome to utilise this space with their workers. It offers them a place where they have the option to meet others and build their social skills in a safe environment. We have a space for gym and boxing, art, gaming, cooking, hair cutting, music and more.

Community You are massive advocates for mental health.

With Movember around the corner we are privileged to have some of our former barbers now NDIS Youth Workers link in with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Brisbane Logan to provide some Haircuts/Movember shaves alongside Faded Times.

Come down for a feed, a cut and even some live music by Say TrueGod?

It's that time of year again you mob! It's our Movember BBQ at our Logan Clinic. We're encouraging all you fullas to come along and help support men's health!

We've got FREE haircuts and shaves, plus a free BBQ (from 11am), DJ and live set from Say TrueGod?

It's all happening from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday 31 October. We'll see you there!

What a great celebration of Rugby league and culture.

Had a great visit with Paora or Big P as he’s known in the community. Big P links in with a lot of community/ youth groups teaching art and linking it to relatable skills in managing addiction and mental health. He’s utilised his skills in art to do some huge projects around Brisbane.

The Community You team and Big P had a real cool chat seeing how we can mix our models to set up a super cool program around graffiti, youth and coping skills and strategies. Watch this space.

Celebrating a special birthday today ! 🎂🎂

We have seen this young man grow from strength to strength. We’re grateful to play such an important role building youth and adolescents in our Moreton Bay community.

Do you know Community You offers a free barbering service to participants utilising our services ?

We understand the sensory needs of our participants and that barbershops can be daunting socially. Several of our staff have had former experience as barbers and have combined the skills of Support/Youth Work and barbering to offer this complementary service according to availability.

We also have an in office paid Barbershop that runs on our mezzanine level on Wednesdays and Thursday afternoons to nights. Sione the barber at Faded Times has a great understanding of support work and sensory needs for children and adults. He currently cuts serval participants of the NDIS and specialises in this experience. Check out his page for how to book and pricing.

It was wonderful to have Phil from Support Worker Hub pop in to our space and meet with Hamo !

Thanks for introducing yourself and all the work you do up skilling providers and support workers.

Finding your People.

Meeting Hamo Community You showed what fabulous inventive ways people are helping build their community.

Hamo gave us a tour of their place which helps young people enter the work place and learn about self care and their own health.

Happy NAIDOC week everyone 🙏🏽

We had the privilege of having 2 of our strong young Indigenous men hang the flag for us at Community You HQ, under the mentorship of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Casemanager Nixon Jackson.

We love the Moreton Bay region and we acknowledge the Turrbal/Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) land which our business operates out of.
