We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Simon Woods to the Nexus Executive Leadership team as our Chief Medical Officer.

Simon is a highly experienced healthcare executive and surgeon, with a career spanning clinical practice, medical leadership, and major healthcare transformation. He has led clinical services, overseen medical governance, driven organisational change, and championed patient safety and quality across complex healthcare environments.

Throughout his career, Simon has been deeply involved in medical education, clinical research, and the development of innovative clinical services. He is passionate about fostering a positive, engaged, and collaborative medical workforce to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

We’re excited to have Dr Paramanathan, Ophthalmologist, joining our team at North Lakes Day Hospital. With extensive training in Australia and internationally, including a three-year mentorship in strabismus under Dr Ross Fitzsimons, she brings world-class expertise in eye care for both adults and children.

Dr Paramanathan’s specialties include:
🔹 Cataract surgery
🔹 Strabismus (misaligned eyes)
🔹 Glaucoma management
🔹 Pterygium and tear-duct procedures
🔹 Amblyopia and paediatric ophthalmology

Celebrating PeriAnaesthesia Nurses – International PeriAnaesthesia Week 2026 (IPAW26) 💙

At Nexus Hospitals, we’re proud to recognise the amazing nurses working across pre-anaesthesia and post-anaesthesia care, ambulatory surgery, and pain management.

Peri-anaesthesia nurses play a vital role in every patient journey caring for patients and supporting families during some of their most vulnerable moments. Their professionalism, expertise and compassion shine through in everything they do.

We are delighted to introduce Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, Dr Madhavi Kasi, who is consulting and operating at Westside Private Hospital & North Lakes Day Hospital.

Dr Kasi has cared for patients in India and the UK, including completing a Hepatology and Liver Transplant Fellowship at the University of Cambridge. She holds Fellowships with both the Royal College of Physicians, UK and the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

She treats all liver conditions, including complex liver diseases, and has presented her expertise at national and international meetings.

Her gastroenterology special interests include:
• Surveillance endoscopy for Barrett’s
• Functional GI disorders
• Coeliac disease
• Complex reflux disease
• General gastroenterology

Dr Kasi was the proud recipient of the Excellence in Patient Care award during her Cambridge Fellowship, and continues to provide patient-centred, high-quality care to this day.

We are delighted to have her caring for patients at Westside Private and North Lakes. Both hospitals offer rapid access endoscopy services, so patients can have their colonoscopy or gastroscopy within 7-14 days, avoiding lengthy wait times.
