11 years ago today I was undergoing 13 hours of surgery having a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction from my abdominal tissue.

My prayer to God was simple: “Lord, use this for something amazing that will bring glory and honour to you.”

I had no idea what that would look like….I just trusted Him to do it.

As I reflect over the last 11 years, I am in complete awe at what He has done, how He has used it and answered my simple hopeful prayer.

He’s created a beautiful healing clinic in North Lakes and asked me to steward it…..given me incredible Holy Spirit led gifts that I love so much and get to use every day….led people to me to help, who have blessed my life at the same time….grown my character and refined me in ways I never thought possible.

It hasn’t been easy….believe me….there have been many many MANY times I seriously contemplated giving up……it’s been a challenging mountain to climb……starting a business from scratch, providing pain relief using a technology most people had never heard of, as an openly Christian therapist….none of it has been easy…..but God had (and still has) a plan.

11 years on I’ve performed over 4500 treatments, been involved in public speaking engagements on health, wellness and my journey, run corporate wellbeing seminars, been interviewed on podcasts, made so many amazing connections right across the globe, received incredible blessings and so much more. Skills and gifts I now have that I never even dreamed of…..all gifts from God.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”

I love what I do and where He has led me more than anything I have ever done in all my working life. The rewards are beyond anything I could ever have dreamed or imagined, and to be doing Holy Spirit led work every day of my life for those He loves is a blessing, honour, privilege and joy that I could never truly articulate in words.

I’ve said it before, this is not a job…..it’s an assignment God has given me….an answer to my simple prayer “Use cancer Lord for something amazing to bring glory and honour to You”,…..and so we continue He and I…..co-labouring together to love and serve and treat all those He brings.

I look forward to seeing Him bring many many more through the doors of Emmaus Health and Wellness - Pain Relief & Health Solutions who need the kind of healing only He can give……through Him and the tools He has placed in my hands.

Maybe that’s you…..you will know…He’ll lead you.

This was a rescue mission…..

The greatest Love story ever told.

It was the day Jesus gave His life to pay a price that we never could……He Loves us that much….all of us….not just some of us…..each and every one of us.

And His resurrection three days later is the message of hope…..it’s the Good News.

Death could not hold Him…..He came to do exactly what He said He would…..to never forsake us….to be with us all until the end of time.

It’s the Greatest Love we could ever know or experience…..given freely….without reservation or expectation……and all He asks for in return is our hearts full of love for Him.

As I reflect on all that Easter means to me, I am always overcome with emotion. I can’t think about Jesus’s Crucifixion without being reduced to tears. 💔

A price paid for me, that I did not deserve…..yet He chooses me anyway…..He chooses all of us…..because he doesn’t want eternity without all of us.

His unconditional Love is there for the taking….for whoever wants it…..freely given…..never forced….but the choice is always there for us, if we choose.

Are you a woman who “feels” a lot?

Throughout your life people may have told you that you are “too sensitive”.

You are so good at reading people and picking up on them and how they are feeling, but sometimes this can also feel heavy.

You like being with people for a while but sometimes crowds overwhelm you and you just need to be alone for a while so you don’t have to “feel” so much.

You don’t like watching the news as all the negative stories stress or upset you too much.

People feel drawn to you and will open up to you about their life, telling you things they have never told anyone before, which sometimes makes you avoid conversations.

So how do you deal with all of that?

You’ve tried a lot of things.....declining invitations to gatherings, establishing self-care habits, avoiding the TV, reading every self-help book you can find on the subject.

You’ve tried it all.

But you don’t want to let anyone down, so you try to keep everyone happy, even if it means you’re not, and you find yourself constantly feeling overloaded to the point that there’s no space for you and what YOU need.

It’s like a never-ending spiral that eventually leaves you feeling weighed down, drained and exhausted.

All you really want is to still be able to be the light and love you were born to be, but to still find the balance and time for your needs too, without all the overwhelm.

You have always been there for everyone, always had a heart to help others, always been really good at that, it has come so naturally for you.

Your heart is for service, and being there for everyone used to fill you up and bring you joy, but now it just feels like everyone wants a piece of you, that you are being pulled in multiple directions, to the point of exhaustion.

If as you are reading all that you are thinking “She just described me!”......

The very first thing I would work on with you (from my vast tookit working with clients just like you)......

Is teach you that your sensitivity is not a curse, it is actually your superpower, but it needs to be managed to avoid burnout.

I would teach you how to set healthy boundaries, to preserve your energy so you have enough for everyone (but especially for yourself), in a way that feels comfortable and aligned with your values, and still allows you to love and serve without feeling like a rung out rag at the end of the day.

This is the number one issue that women struggle with the most.....how to set boundaries and say no when they need to. It keeps them feeling stuck in a cycle of give give give, one they don’t know how to break free from without feeling guilty, no matter how hard they try.

And they struggle with it because they don’t know any differently, they have always been this strong resilient enduring woman and they think that’s the only way to operate, without any concern for themselves. They’ve never found anyone to teach them a different way.

In my practice, I teach women just like you how to manage their beautiful gift of sensitivity and to create a balanced life that allows space to be your true self, so you can show up with energy and confidence for those you love, without it draining you.

Once we determine the areas where you are struggling the most, you will very quickly start to feel a shift and feel more in control of your time, your emotions and your energy. Your life will begin to feel more at ease and balanced, and less depleted.

You will have a framework to draw on at any time that will feel so natural to you, and you will begin each day from a place of calm and balance, not overwhelm and depletion.

Of course there are many other tools I use in my practice, but since every woman is different, so too what you need has to be tailor made and personalised just for you, for your own unique needs and for where you are at in your own life.

But understanding you and finding your own unique framework is where I would start.

This transformation happens quickly and is like nothing else you will experience anywhere else.

As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand you intricately, in ways no one else does, this is my unique God-given gift that I am so grateful I get to share.

I am on a mission to help exhausted, overwhelmed women to feel energised, vibrant and empowered, by unlocking the natural healing power of their mind, body and spirit, without all the pressure of feeling like they have to do more.

Right now there are so many women PUSHING themselves to BE more, DO more and ACHIEVE more.

Advertisements are flooding our feeds telling us to “do this program”, “buy this course”, “declutter your house”, “reach this next level in your life/career/business”......that to squeeze in this “one next thing” is going to make all the difference.

All creating overwhelm for women who are searching for solutions, but who are already too EXHAUSTED to barely get out of bed, let alone get ready for work, take care of their family or hit the next KPI.

But what if there was a way you could feel energised yet calm, centred and balanced....every day?

You are a busy woman who is trying to keep all the balls in the air of your life, family, business, career. You know you’ve got what it takes to do all these things with excellence, but your body and energy levels just aren’t keeping up any more.

You keep on pushing yourself while running on empty....you can do that for a while....but it’s not sustainable, and eventually the cracks are going to form....if they’re not already.

Right now you are burning your candle at both ends, hoping they won’t meet somewhere in the middle, but continually expending more energy out than you’ve got going in is only going to lead to more overwhelm and exhaustion.

Deep down you know this isn’t sustainable, that there is only so long you can keep this up for, and that investing in your own self-care is an important step in the right direction.

But right now that all feels too hard, you don’t feel you have the time to take care of you, it may even feel a bit selfish or indulgent. You always had enough energy when you were younger right?.....so why is it so hard now?

You genuinely want to get that same sort of SUSTAINABLE energy back like you once had.....

- without having to find extra hours in the day to spend on self-care

- without having to invest in MORE expensive programs that just don’t work and waste your precious (already extended) time

- without feeling even more OVERWHELMED

As I start my Christmas holidays, I am in awe of what God has done as I reflect over this year - new clinic, new knee, new beginnings - just to name a few.

While I celebrate all the amazing things that have happened in my own life this year, I also know that there is so much going on in our world right now, things that we can all struggle to understand why and find no answers, things that we personally can’t do anything about, things that make no sense at all.

In Hebrews 11:1 we are reminded that “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus I encourage us all to remember, that even in the hard, God is with us.

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).” - Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In a world so desperate for hope, there is one thing we all can do, it costs nothing and has a huge impact - we can all be light and love wherever we are.

There is an old song that says “What the world needs now, is love sweet love, no not just for some, but for every one of us.”

My prayer for us all this Christmas, is that we will all put down our phones and be intentional with whoever is in front of us….in our families, our communities, our businesses, our Churches….wherever you are, be present, be light, be love……that’s something we all can do…..and it’s free for everyone.

Imagine if we all just did that….how impactful that would be on our world.

As I wrap up this year, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I pray you get an opportunity to rest and restore, to spend time with and appreciate your loved ones.
