The Horse's Gift with Julie Bechu

The Horse's Gift with Julie Bechu Wellbeing retreats, private sessions and workshops for adults in co-creation with horses, based on Equine Experiential Learning activities.

All activities are held safely from the ground, no prior horse experience required. The Horse's Gift is compassionate ground-related horse activities for adults and children with retreats, private sessions, immersive bush walks and journeys based on Equine Experiential Learning. Equine experiential learning (EEL) is a leading-edge modality. It is the process of learning through experience, and is more specifically defined as learning through reflection on interacting with the horses or simply being with them. No prior horse experience is required. All the work is done safely from the ground and has been created for the non-horse person and the avid horse-people alike. Julie Bechu, main facilitator and owner at The Horse's Gift, trained in America to become one of the first Australian graduate in equine experiential learning. It can benefit all individuals, couples and children that simply wish to connect with nature and invite more joy in their life. Allow yourself to receive the horse's gift, the gift of being you.

We are delighted to announce that Julie will be offering private sessions and mini retreats at Eden Equine in the Blue Mountains (only 90 minutes from Sydney CBD) from the 11th till the 25th of August 2023.

Adults and children are both welcome.
All activities are held safely from the ground with care, love and respect for both humans and horses.
On request, other activities can be included for children such as animal feeding, grooming and lead pony rides.

Many of our followers were hoping for us to be closer to the city and we now are able to offer it to you with these outstanding facilities.

Eden equine is a glorious harmonious and peaceful retreat farm with 13 horses, Donkeys, Alpacas, sheep, goats and the list goes on. A stunning sanctuary with luxury accommodation, a perfect peaceful getaway to restore, nurture, relax and connect with nature: https://www.edenequine.com.au/

Deborah and Michael established this little paradise on earth in 2016. Their son had been diagnosed with a number of behavioral issues and after researching and trying various therapies, they were blown away by the benefits of Equine Assisted Learning. They realised both the animals and humans get much joy from interacting together from the heart and they wanted to make it accessible to the public.

Then, life events allowed us to meet and here we are :)

Spots and accommodation are limited, so make sure to contact us as soon as possible at info@juliebechu.com.

Further dates will be offered, so don't hesitate to join the waiting list!

We look forward to welcome you in this little heaven 😍

Warmly,

Julie and the Horses 🐴💖💖💖🍀

Looking for a reliable person to look after my horses for 3 to 5 months while I'm overseas between April 2023 to September 2023. We are located in North Narooma, NSW 2546 on the inlet (a little paradise on earth). Horses will need to be fed and put UV/fly masks on sunny days (masks need to be taken off in the evenings).

Water to be checked everyday and making sure they are sound. Rugging may be required on very bad weather. And they will also need to rotate paddocks.

All will be under the landlord supervision that also lives on the property.

Accomodation can be offered for free in exchange, as well as the use of my car to the right person. Accomodation is in a 4 bedroom house and will be shared with my mum only. So a quiet person without children is prefered.

There is a possibility to bring your own horse if approved by the landlord for no extra cost.

Accessible trail rides from the property and lots of flat land to ride on the grass.

Please contact me asap if interested at juliebechu@mac.com or via messenger.

A lot of my clients are currently experiencing Adrenal fatigue and I can also relate to it, as I have been through it myself.

After years of fight of flight mode with the natural disasters, the pandemic and all the stress related to start life all over again, finding our true purposes and letting go of passed loved ones or our old self, we have been pushed to the edges.

Often it is too late when we come to be aware of it and we ”crash”. Our body sends us messages before we get to that point but we miss them. And then we get very sick or stuck. However our bodies try really hard to help us realign with our true essence, to allow ourselves to feel our emotions and transcend what doesn’t serve our best interests, so we can heal, experience balance and joy again. But for most of us, we never really learned to listen and understand our body’s messages, we barely learn it at school or from our parents.

Horses (mostly evolving in the wild or close to their natural settings) are masters in responding to fight or flight situations, they don’t and can’t hold these feelings for ever like we do. Holding to stress can kill then.
They find a way to deal with the situation, feel, express and release their emotions attached, then they eventually go back to grazing like nothing happened. They actually can get the messages from their bodies and emotions. They allow the information to be felt, for the emotions to flow and the experience to be fully lived and integrated in the moment. They remind us that right now is all that matters.

We have a lot to learn from their ways of responding to such situations. So spending time with horses can help us “attune” to that way of being.

Meanwhile, here is also a very powerful podcast to look at what is happening from a holistic perspective. Taking in account our body, minds and spirit.. I hope it will help you as much as it helped me 🤗💫🐴🌺:

Brillant conversation with Linda Kohanov, the founder of the modality we offer at the Horse’s Gift.
Enjoy this uplifting talk to keep expending our awareness and help us to better understand the world within and outside ourselves 💫🐎❤️

I’ve been wanting to get Linda Kohanov on the podcast for quite a while now, and recently was fortunate enough to record an interview with her. It was great conversation about how she came to be doing the amazing work she is doing and how she views the horse world.

Linda is an author, speaker, riding instructor, and horse trainer. Kohanov is best known in the field called "equine facilitated psychotherapy" (closely related to therapeutic horseback riding), and as the author of five books, The Tao of Equus: A Woman's Journey of Healing and Transformation through the Way of the Horse (2001), Riding between the Worlds: Expanding Our Potential through the Way of the Horse (2003), Way of the Horse: Equine Archetypes for Self Discovery (2007), The Power of the Herd: A Nonpredatory Approach to Social Intelligence, Leadership, and Innovation (2012) and The Five Roles of a Master Herder: A Revolutionary Model for Socially Intelligent Leadership (2016). Linda's books have been used as texts in university courses across the country and have received appreciative reviews in publications as diverse as Horse and Rider, Natural Horse, IONS Noetic Sciences Review, Shift, Spirituality and Health, Animal Wellness, The Equestrian News and Strides (the magazine published by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association). Many courses in equine assisted therapy have her books as essential reading for example in the UK one of the growing number of equine facilitated Psychotherapy organisations IFEAL [1] cites her books throughout their teaching.
