Kate Campbell is a registered psychologist and sexologist who offers sessions from our North Perth practice. She works with adolescents (12+) and adults, and also provides couples therapy. Kate takes a client-focused approach, creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel heard, supported, and respected in their experiences.

Kate draws on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), attachment and interpersonal therapy, and trauma-informed interventions. March 2nd is all about raising awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging open conversations about teen mental health. Did you know 1 in 7 teens (ages 10–19) experience mental illness?

With school pressures, friendships, family expectations, identity exploration, and social media, it’s no surprise that anxiety and stress are common. Noticing the signs early and offering support can really help them navigate these years. 💙

Here are 5 ways parents can support their teens’ mental well-being:

✔️ Start with a hug: a simple, caring touch can reduce stress and boost wellbeing
✔️ Have breakfast together: bonding time plus a nutritious start can help improve mental health
✔️ Practice active listening: avoid judgment, ask clarifying questions, show engagement
✔️ Let them know therapy is an option: there are many ways to access support
✔️ Encourage exercise, yoga, or outdoor activities: movement and sunlight can help boost mood
