Last week I had the privilege of being awarded for 30 years of volunteering for Standards Australia.
My wife deserves an award for supporting me and giving up time with me for the years of volunteering.
My work has included:
AS 4277 - 1995
Text telecommunications - User interface requirements - For Deaf people and people with hearing and speech disabilities
AS 1428.5 - 2010 and AS 1428.5 - 2021 (I was the drafting leader)
Design for access and mobility - Communication for people who are deaf or hearing impaired

We need more volunteers who are prepared to put in the time and effort to make a difference, one day at a time.

We're coming to the Deaf Festival!

Drop in for a chat, ask questions, or test out a product you've been interested in. Andrew and Bec will be on the stall all day, and one of Andrew's nieces, Heather, an OT, will be helping out too.

If you are hosting zoom meetings or community groups please read and implement these tips. Also please share any tips you have in the comments bellow

As meetings, churches and communities move online it is easy for those of us with a communication disability to get left behind.
