Some very important changes for the ACT - Although we are coming out of Lockdown, that does not mean all restrictions are lifted. Please read this post from ACT Health for all the details.
⚠️ Lockdown to end at 11.59pm, Thursday 14 October 2021 ⚠️
Lockdown will be lifted as of 11.59pm, Thursday 14 October 2021 and with the ACT now at over 70% of 12+ Canberrans fully vaccinated, there will be some further easing to restrictions that will come into effect as lockdown ends.
➡️ While lockdown will end a number of health directions will remain unchanged. These include:
• Masks continue to be required at all times upon leaving home, including in workplaces, if you are aged 12 years and over.
• You are required to use the Check In CBR app.
• An individual’s vaccination status does not change how the local restrictions apply in the ACT.
➡️ Restrictions that will change include:
• No more than 5 people can visit another household at any one time. This limit does not apply to children under 12 years of age.
• Up to 25 people can gather outdoors for physical or recreational activities. This includes outdoor bootcamps and personal training, as well as outdoor and contactless coaching.
• The Standing Exemption for surrounding NSW border residents will be expanded to include additional postcodes.
• Licensed venues, cafes and restaurants can operate with capacity of 25 people or density of 1 per 4 sqm for seated service indoors. Businesses can have max 50 people or 1 per 4 sqm if operating seated service outdoors only - not both.
• Funerals can have 50 people or one person per four square metres, whichever is lesser (exc. staff). This is regardless of whether the funeral is indoors or outdoors.
• Weddings can have 25 people or one person per four square metres, whichever is lesser (excluding the celebrant and one photographer). Guests must remain seated whilst eating and drinking. Dancing permitted.
• Accommodation, campgrounds, caravan parks and campsites will open, however gathering restrictions apply.
• All non-essential retail can operate a click and collect or click and deliver service. Small business can also operate by contactless means with capacity of 10 people allowed or 1 per 4 sqm, whichever is less.
• Hairdressers, beauty and personal services will open with capacity of 5 clients.
• Swimming pools can reopen with 25 people across the venue, or 1 person per four square metres, whichever is less (excluding staff). There can only be 2 swimmers per lane, and formal lessons and training is permitted to proceed, whilst adhering to the gathering restrictions.
• A gradual return to the workplace where it suits you and your employer.
• Up to two visitors per day can visit a person who is a resident of a residential aged care facility, for any reason. Visitors must be vaccinated.
➡️ And just a reminder in regards to education:
• From 18 October, Year 11 and 12 students return to on campus learning
• From 25 October, early childhood centres reopen as well as pre-school to year 2, and years 6, 9 and 10 return to on campus learning. Out of school hours care available to on campus learners.
